The Sheriff’s Office received a report at 11 p.m. on Wednesday of a missing 21-year-old man. Authorities located his car in the parking lot of the Northstar California Resort, where the man had been skiing. The Tahoe Nordic Search & Rescue Team began their search using 15 skiers, a snowcat. Kang is the third skier who has died at Northstar California Resort this month. #NVwx #CAwx #WX

The avalanche was triggered at approximately 11:30 a.m. in the Castle Peak area, the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. According to the Sierra Avalanche Center, up to 10 people were involved and possibly buried. #NVwx #CAwx #WX
