Let's keep that monthly poll going with what people voted for in December! Linkle is one of those characters that is slowly falling into the obscurity of Nintendo's lesser IPs and characters; but I always had a soft spot for her.
I did want to do something involving her aiming her crossbow. Elements like the Triforce felt perfect for the background, with the glows of each main character a part of it. I also wanted the lineart of two different characters from Hyrule Warriors, the same game Linkle is stuck in, as they play a big role in the story of the game.
Honestly really happy with the end result here, especially after a long while of not drawing.

Before the end of the year, one last image for last year's OC Ballot Winner. Hannah deserves a little warm clothing for the winter season and went with this attire. Of course I had the horse jacket over her horse-half, with the upper half being a little more modern in terms of clothing. Seeing the hats with ear covers and string bits at work made me think of it as good idea. Incorporating armor felt more akin to puting a sweatshirt over a winter jacket, another layer that's easily added and removeable.

As voted by my Monthly Supporters, I drew an image of Cleo from H2O: Just Add Water. The theme for this poll was based on different IPs that helped shaped me like The Clone Wars and Madoka Magica and h2O was one of them that made me more recognize mermaids thanks to it's premiere on TeenNick here in the States, with Cleo being the one I related to the most. I wanted to make sure I did the character justice with my art style as I don't often do real life to anime art pieces. The magic was more just something for her to do and the mako mermaids always make me worried I get it right until it's shaded. The real challenge was the background as I wanted to both capture her underwater and the moon pool with the moon creeping over the abandoned volcano. It's probably my favorite part of the piece. So here's to you H20, being one of the IPs to help mold me into what I am today.

Years ago, Michiko was taken into a world in a book where she was a bridal princess, originally a fantasy meant to trap her their as her reality; until she escaped and looked at herself more positively. Now she is enjoying a comfortable life in the city but there are times where she does dabble back into the bridal princess form as a little treat on a day-off. And with her new cat being so affectionate, she was able to make a little bow for him so he can get in on the same joy she experiences briefly.

Designed by AzuraMermaidArts, this is the design that has impacted the most out of all my commissioned art pieces. However, I never drew it myself despite loving the art, mostly due to the fear of all the details. Now it is finally time to complete and drawing it myself made me remember why I loved it. It's so much detailed but never horribly clustered, poofy and a gown banner, the matching tiara, it all fits absolutely beautifully. Of course I wanted to do a somewhat dynamic pose, her grabbing the cloths of her skirt. I also wanted her cat Arthur there looking dapper and somewhat fitting the design.

Bethany's job is simple but not often taken, that of a traveling guard for members of the Mercenaries' Guild. She often travels from outpost to outpost/inn. In exchange for food, bed and board, she focuses on protecting any place Guild-post. Often Extra Muscles that can be greatly appreciated. Essentially grunt work that goes overlooked but beyond appreciated by the people around her.

Inspired by MiraiHikariArt's art piece of Kisara from Tales of Arise, I wanted to have a piece where it showcased Bethany guarding one of the Guilds' locations. Getting the pose and the angle was the key thing in my mind, and trying to render the cake was something I was worried about. However, while everything else was improvised, I'm immensely proud of the cameos of Gwynfor and Haera, both my own characters. How they were done were a simple painted format, going over the sketch, using one type of brush. The result is honestly enthusiastically inspiring and makes me want to try again in a bigger image. The background being Autumn was due to a combination of the season at the time of creation, as well as wanting to match with the sunrise as well as Bethany's orange hair.

Passing the Torch

Within the transition between old and new, within a storm, a clone trooper with a torch helps guide Claudia closer and closer to the exit. While she can survive, more and more this trooper gets taken by the dust storm. And right as they get close, her begins to fade as he passes the torch to Claudia.

With me hitting 3 decades of life soon, I wanted to do something to, well, pay tribute to my first character. Mikaru was a Jedi/Jet Trooper, but as you can probably tell he's no longer a character I even have on my big spreadsheet. But, the first step is always important. So, I drew Claudia who is at this point the big pillar in my lore and have Mikaru pass the torch. I tried to do something different with the shading on Claudia, matching the dusty flow. In the end, this is probably one of the last milestone pieces I wanted to do before the next birthday, and an apperciation of what has come before.

During the Isekai boom, there was a meme called "Truck-kun," going around on the interwebs, doing jokes about the obsurdities of the truck isekai-ing protagonists. However, I ended up thinking "What if it was doing this on purpose... and could it transform?" After that, I began brainstorming and leading to this. The design is simple, a combination of WFC (toyline) Ironhide and TFAnimated Shockwave. I knew I wanted it to pick up the body and have it's headlights focused on shining on it. It's a horror piece thru and thru, one with a WIP collecting dust for almost 3 years. While I could do more, I'd rather have it out in the wild for all to see this concept formed.

As voted, Princess Boosette took the stage. Given that this is a design more from the fans, there are many different designs and interpretations of her appearance. I tried my best to do one from several different looks and ended up with one that I thought fit her and my style. The background was harder than anticipated especially since I needed to curve the perspective. It was a struggle early on to the point I wanted to start that first end it paid off so well!

Cynthia's greatest nightmare is losing control of her vampire side. The side that is a natural blood suckers, one can compare them to a monster of the night. To be a puppet of this inner instinct she has worked hard to control and manage within her lifetime. And yet, sometimes when she sleeps, she can feel the nightmare becoming more and more real. In the realm of dreams she can not escape the horror that may possibly come if she laxed control; and a fear of becoming far more worse than human.

This is sort of a remake of one of my old pieces but more it's own thing. I always had the idea of Cynthia being fearful of her vampire side, always thinking of it like it controls her even unintentionally. Leaning into that idea is her as a wodden puppet with no control over herself and her action. I wanted to do something like that but also add a shelved idea. There's a character called "Darkness" that was from an old group RP called "Echoes In The Rain" and she was more the evil villian and mirror to Cynthia. So I wanted her to be the puppet of Cynthia as if she's controlling her vampire side; luckly my friend Azura has an old WIP I was able to use. Add a bit of scratch brushes to the BG and I love how dark this image came out.

New OC: Marcille the Blade Ballerina

Marcille is a cyborg constructed for a wealthy family as well to eliminate targets the family deemed a threat or for a bounty. The name was given to her thru a combination of her production line tag: M-4R71 and members of the family filling in the gaps. When she came online, she was as cold as any robot would be, showing little deviations towards commands and the words from her vocal cord; making it easier to eliminate those against the family.

The cycles of time moved forward and so did the ease of killing. Tho, with extra downtime, she began learning more about the world, it’s culture, it’s languages and history. She added little things to herself, like a ribbon around her thigh, and a spider lily in her headband. Soon, she obtained independent thought, ‘she thinks, therefore she is.’

While she has not had to decide not to kill nor too many difficult choices, she has become so familiar with the bloodshed that if another job comes by that involves taking a life, she (might have) no hesitation to act.

So happy I got this idea down. This is a character started from tutu sawblade and evolved from there as a thought a ballerina with blades would be so cool and badass. I was struggling on how to do the legs for a while until I saw an art piece with these curved long blade legs. Things then slowly fell into place, and finished with this masterpiece. I ended up adding a spider lily on her hairband to make it feel more "human" and for a sprinkling of symbolism.

The only way to escape is to realize it is a dream and to truely deny the deepest desire. Even after that, if they do get such desire, they will die by a heart attack. I knew I wanted to work on at least one artwork this year that was one of my OCs in a poofy gown; but after finding a pose online that really grabbed my attention plus struggling to figure out which OC to use, I ended up defaulting on Snow Princess Drake. The result is a lot of experimentation with lighting, cloth fabric and even a a holographic tutorial I found on Bluesky was used. I was very worried it was going to look too much like water but it ended up looking amazing!

Yuki's lifetime is not one would consider pleasant, even reminiscing can feel like a minefield. From being taken from her home, to being an assassin, all the way to her genie imprisonment for failing. She still tries to reach out; hoping for a better tomorrow in her small prison.

This art piece was brewing for I want to say a year, but it kept being pushed off more and more due to time and confidence. After the animated image, I decided to bite the bullet and go for it. A good chunk of it was made "in the moment." The frames were originally going to be a bit more basic but I wanted to give them a little attachment to the time frames, like the left one having burnt and cracked glass. This went to the background, simple but the shattered glass raining from the top. Getting the poses to line up was a bit harder, needing to draw essentially 4 versions of the same character. I was worried for a moment but the execution once the shading was underway felt incredibly solid.

Yuki's lifetime is not one would consider pleasant, even reminiscing can feel like a minefield. From being taken from her home, to being an assassin, all the way to her genie imprisonment for failing. She still tries to reach out; hoping for a better tomorrow in her small prison.

This art piece was brewing for I want to say a year, but it kept being pushed off more and more due to time and confidence. After the animated image, I decided to bite the bullet and go for it. A good chunk of it was made "in the moment." The frames were originally going to be a bit more basic but I wanted to give them a little attachment to the time frames, like the left one having burnt and cracked glass. This went to the background, simple but the shattered glass raining from the top. Getting the poses to line up was a bit harder, needing to draw essentially 4 versions of the same character. I was worried for a moment but the execution once the shading was underway felt incredibly solid.

I remember this user talking about this idea for quite sometime, even hearing slight changes through the grapevine. So to be given this idea, it was an honor not gonna lie. With the references given, I was able to really knock it out of the park I feel like. Extremely happy with how the shading came out too, with the crossing shadows. I also tried something a little different with a stronger shading of shorts and it came out great!

Basalees are slime creatures often found within forests and other biomes with high tree density. Because of this, they prefer to sleep in groups or on stumps. Fireflies sometimes float around them as the glows of their souls seems to make them feel safe, as basalees sleep deeper in the forest. This one in particular found a nice flat stump to sleep on with it's glow coating the nearby nature.

I needed to draw more of my Basalees, they're my cute slime race that I made to have my own slimes. I knew I wanted to make one of them sleep, but why not do it animated. This was my first time doing animation in CSP and it was more challenging understanding the software and how it worked more than anything. Once I got the hang of it, the sleeping basalee came to life! Having it sort of shift and slump is a happy accident that made it feel more slime-like. The animation feels rather soothing in the end too, as comforting as the sleeping basalee itself.

For a long while, I wanted to do an art challenge based on Nintendo Directs. Tho for a while, timing things up seemed impossible until the one for Sept. 12th 2025. I instantly locked in Rosalina due to the reveal of the Super Mario Galaxy movie, and already had a fun idea in my head. Due to also the time constraint, I did have to rush in places but I love just how the core idea came together. Shockingly, with how fast the clothing had to be put together as well, it ended working out magically. Also very happy with the little poster in the background.

This was originally made for selling as merch, in particular prints. It first came from one of my early artist alley booth, where someone was looking for a Sailor Mars print due to my style. The thought lingered for a while and ended up emerging as this. I love how she came out! The fire just looks so good, and the "Mars Flame Sniper" fits the centauress form so much. I knew I wanted to go with black fur but I didn't know how strong I wanted to make it, but it came out pretty well! A lot of the background was inspired by an OG frame from the transformation and fits pretty well!

Kitami was out for a swim, looking to more or less simply relax after a stressful day. While swimming about, she encountered a odd wonder in the sea, bubbles with images akin to memories. Some seemed odd but others came off as nostalgic. In interest, she swims up to them, reaching out to try to grasp these memories.

It's around that time again and I wanted to do another art idea to celebrate the 30th birthday milestone in November (2025) as well as to celebrate where I started from. Because it's this time of the year, it was so appropriate to use Kitami within this piece. I knew I wanted her reaching up while looking at the surface of the water, I tried my best to make it look like she's swimming towards the surface. I'm more happy with how the bubbles turned out, the "memories" are mesh transformed but it ends up selling the effect so much better!

This ended up being a fun commission, and perfect timing too (for Draw A Centaur Day!). I ended up trying a new way of using models for this commission with the CSP 3.0 additions and it was the biggest growing pain. XD Other than that, I am really happy with both characters, the difference with Peach compared to last year feels like a good improvement too!

    As soon as Shantae Adbance was announced, I wanted to do fanart of my favorite video game character. I was also making this at a time when I was drained when it came to art and IRL. But drawing this really helped me get my groove back.
I went with a big pop-py theme, slightly inspired by Dragalia Lost while trying to keep the excitement I felt for this game's announcement. Replicating the style scene on the promo material was a lot of fun too! I did have plans for including sprites of the characters, but I did not have the passion to add it in. But I really enjoyed working on this a lot.

    Got commissioned a rather fun drawing related to a character being turned into a naga! Really happy with how this came ouit especially since it's been a while since I've drawn a naga/lamia. Tried to make sure the tail was nice and big and I'm pretty happy with the end result of the coil pile. With the shocked expression, it's going to be a long day getting use to the new change.

What If:
Originally, Phrono was born into a Glace-Merfolk family but was unable to regulate his frost magic as a newborn and needed a spell to turn his ice magic into fire magic in order to live. THIS is a version where he was born as a Glaceman without those difficulties. He became more prideful of his Glacefolk-heritage and often looked down on those without natural ice powers. Because of this, he never really rose high in the ranks but he did not care what rank he was. He could easily wipe the floor with any low life no matter if they out ranked him or not.

This was an idea brewing for a long while. I wanted to work on it but never knew how to go about it. I did add it to the string of ideas but the "What If" last year really pushed me to do this. Coming up with an attire for him was hard but ended up landing on something that feels similar but much different. That's what I really take away from this the most in a very positive way: It feels like Phrono but you can recognize the differences! Hopefully I can keep this as an annual theme.
