It’s not often I work on a merfolk with a long tail but it was fun to do so, having their tail make a swirl was quite fun and helped put focus on the element. This isn’t my first time working on a pic of MerAmity but it was fun to do a different expression and try to capture that wonder while Gul looks excited.

This was a fun one! The commissioner had a big H2O Inspiration and I’m all for it! They asked for not only their own OC but also a new one within a moon pool as they transformed. Outside of some of the basic references, I was allowed to add my own flare to her and choose her color for the merform. This was a fun one! The commissioner had a big H2O Inspiration and I’m all for it! They asked for not only their own OC but also a new one within a moon pool as they transformed. Created as merch first, this was sparked during my watch of the movie, where it clicked for me that this was an evolution of Mermaid Melody’s standard plot. I really fell in love with how the movie used it’s characters and the music within the plot and with MerMagic con around the corner, I did a bit of rushing to complete them.
I kept Zoey as close to the MMPPP’s style as much as possible given her personality; Mira was altered with more inspiration from her action attire; Rumi had more elements of the Black Beauty Sisters given her half-demon nature, with even inspiration from the manga for her microphone. I’m honestly really proud with how well this crossover came out!

Created as merch first, this was sparked during my watch of the movie, where it clicked for me that this was an evolution of Mermaid Melody’s standard plot. I really fell in love with how the movie used it’s characters and the music within the plot and with MerMagic con around the corner, I did a bit of rushing to complete them.
I kept Zoey as close to the MMPPP’s style as much as possible given her personality; Mira was altered with more inspiration from her action attire; Rumi had more elements of the Black Beauty Sisters given her half-demon nature, with even inspiration from the manga for her microphone. I’m honestly really proud with how well this crossover came out!

Got a classic Merfolk scenario as a commission. I got something like this in the past and I wanted to do a better job if possible. The reference felt very H2O inspired so went closer with that route. The open windowed provide a beautiful light source to shine on Malduran and I really enjoyed add the details to the surfaces. Sometimes she has two tails, or a fishtail or wings. There are different versions of her name and various stories are found in different regions especially France, Luxembourg and the Low Countries. I first learned of her from Manuel Mujica Láinez’s The Wandering Unicorn, which tells her story through the centuries. Her story also appears in A.S. Byatt’s Possession amongst many other places from operas to video games. 🧵2/2

This art piece was created more as a piece of merch to sell but that wasn't the only reason. If you're on the internet, it's impossible to avoid Hatsune Miku; with one of the artists that made me want to improve my lighting (Rella) exclusively does Miku art. All of that merged together and lead to this piece of work. Of course went with the mermaid theme but also wanted to be influenced by her original design. I gave her big twintails inspired by other versions of Miku tho with tips feeling closer to the vibes of the ocean. I also went with soundbar patterns and scales thanks to brushes I made before hand. A little bit of foreground blur and added music notes behind her to enhance the feeling of her singing, with the wavebars brush enhancing. Also tried to use those brushes for the rays thru the water. I still absolutely love how it came out!

Back in her high school days, Michiko use to be a cheerleader with the gift of being able to skim across the water like a dolphin. A feat most Melody-merfolks struggle with. Years of training and perfection lead her to making it look effortless... that was, until her high school boyfriend and a nasty breakup ruined her motivation. Fast forward to now, Michiko is now living on her own and on one night she decided to just try once more. Out of practice, she tries again, tho fails several times. Finally, Michiko was able to skim across the water. Even tho it wasn't as long as it use to be, it was still a step in the right direction in her mind.

For the longest time, this has been an idea I've been wanting to do for years as I always had this idea in my head lore-wise for Michiko. To finally get around and work on this feels like a breathe of fresh air, and I'm so happy with the end result! I'm super happy with how Michiko's hair and expression came out! I ended up adding some sweat after getting refs from Demon Slayer and thought it would be a good fit. I'm very happy with the sky render but what I was the most unsure about was the water. I was worried about making sure the waves looked like she was skimming through it with light movement. After some advice, I added some changes and came out much better. To say I'm happy with it is an understatement.

Mélusine was the legendary half-fairy ancestor of the House of Lusignan and royals including the Plantagenets, whose lower half became a serpent when she bathed.
