(( Forgot to tag this initially, but oh hey, this one contains #pooltoy / #RubberFur and #quadruped / #feral #furry stuff. So consider reading it if you're into that. Moving on... ))

The inflated kangaroo paddled gently around on the surface, her big feet and hands the only part of her she could easily get under the water. She saw her friend dive once again, and stuck whole face under the surface to watch.

Under the water, the leopard's lithe and agile form darted about. She'd learned by now how to swim like a real wild leopard, wiggling her body like a fish, twisting about, slipping up to the surface to catch a breath before swooping back in.

After a few minutes of this, she had to fully breach the surface, throwing her hair back as she panted.

"Hokay... That feels aerobic, right?" she grinned.

The pooltoy shrugged, "I dunno, I haven't exercised since we were in middle school remember?"

She did remember: her friend had managed to avoid any sort of actual PE classes, and had become a pooltoy mere days after she turned old enough, making any sort of exercise pointless anyway: pooltoys were always in shape, said shape usually being round, so long as they had air inside them to keep it that way.

The leopard was considering going back under, when they heard the automated door from the hall slide open.

The white-coated leopard strode down the hallway, past windows looking down upon the city streets several stories below. The blue hair on her head bobbed gently, along with the chrome bracelets loosely dangling from all four paws, the only other thing the quadrupedal feline wore being a small vest which was more for pockets than anything, as it didn't even reach past her ribcage.

As she passed through the next building, a voice called to her from a side hall...

"Oh hey! Right on time!"

She glanced up to see a large blue and black kangaroo bounding awkwardly towards her, each step carrying an exceptional amount of bounce through the inflated frame, plastic exterior shining from the lights of the hall.

"Hey, that is good timing isn't it?" she greeted, turning to keep walking alongside her. She glanced down at the only thing the pooltoy was wearing, a pair of roo-sized shoes, "you uh... Worried about stepping on something sharp?"

"Hmm? Oh, no, the bottoms of my feet are actually kinda solid, weighting and all that." the pooltoy explained, "These actually have extra weight in them to make it easier to run."

"Ohhh, see I always thought it was like a protective thing." the leopard's brain started churning, "Yeah I guess weighting would be a thing you have to worry about wouldn't it."

The pooltoy nodded, "Yeah, I'm not exactly entirely vinyl and air, but my body is a lot less dense than an actual animal's... Speaking of, you're still on all fours?"

"Yeah, I uh... I wasn't gonna do it this long but... I dunno, I like something about it and it's just not as much of a hassle as I thought it'd be." she tilted her head from side to side, "This might end up being a permanent thing at this point."

"Yeah, I get what you mean: I did some rounding on my hands for a party last year and uh..." She held up a hand that was more a circle with pointed nubs, "It just... It's a good look, and way easier to live with than I realized."

"I think a lot of stuff is like that," the leopard noted, "Like, change seems like a big deal until you get used to it, then it's just a thing that used to be different."
