#limitedpalette — Public Fediverse posts

As an #introduction I thought I’ll post one of my favorite #painting.
It’s called “Side Effects”, #Acrylic #MixedMedia on Arches OilPaper, 22x30 inches. Sold in 2022

Tried a 4-color palette today and somehow got this derpy cat staring at a butterfly 🐱🦋

Studio's open, come on in! It's the last mini-painting stream of the month, and I've cleared the desk.. so it's speed-paint o'clock! I've decided to tackle Gauth.

Lately I’ve gotten really into game development, and it feels like I may have gone a bit too deep into it🎮😅
Now I’m planning to focus more on drawing and videos🎨🎥
But don’t think I’ve abandoned the game - I’ll probably show what I’ve been working on in a few days 🚀

Playing with a limited watercolour palette of Potter’s Pink, Green Earth, Ultramarine, and Raw Umber. Next time I’ll need to use more water to make it granulate more.

Jozefine Propper wearing a paper crown.
I got to try a crazy #limitedpalette with this, using only cadmium orange 🟠, ready-mixed violet🟣 and titanium white⚪️. I think it turned out funky, although I’d love to continue this later on. But once the painting has dried, I will have forgotten about these feelings!

Pixelart commission for MJD :>
Very happy with the moody colors and esp chest spike.

Got more to say about the story around the art than the art itself on this one, so I'll highjack desc with a sort of blog
(it's been a while since I finished it!)
Been working on my own gamejams and then attempted to help wrap up a friend's Unreal project but sadly had to be stopped (was too ambitious and team didn't know the engine enough to achieve the vision).

About gamejams though, MJD was **THE** music guy on our last 2 jams and delivered great work (Kobold Concoction and Treasure Muncher) so now he's the musician for my first to-be-completed commercial steam game :3

I'm going to turn Kobold Concoction into a full game to be sold on steam woo (Short replayable shmup where you mix ingredients dropped from enemies to discover upgrade recipes)!

Definitely recommend checking his stuff out :

As for the games we made :

Treasure Muncher is a cute game where you play as Sifa the Kobold who must help gather treasures to help pay off their dragons' gacha addiction.

(Noxid (Characters Art, Design), Me (Code, Design), MonsieurHonhon (Level Design, Environment + Enemies Art, Design), MJD (Music))

You can try out the updated Kobold Concoction jam version here. I hope we can release a full polished spiritual successor of it sometimes next year :)

(Me (Design; Code), RoguePixels (art), MJD (Music), Gilamex (Additional design help))

If you like Kobold Concoction you're strongly encouraged to let me know, every nice comment helps keep motivation high for the oncoming months.
I'm also super interested to hear your feedback, ideas and wishlists of how to make the sequel even better. I can't promise everything because I'm just one guy and want to try to keep the budget and schedule tight but I'm really grateful for any insights on how to improve my all my skills I want to channel into the project.

Heck yeah! We're keeping this tradition alive! This is something I wanted to do every season but kept missing days or the like due to IRL getting in the way. Luckily, I was able to complete this in time and with the limited palette is looks pretty good!

Hey, come on in, studio's open and I am doing a speedpaint of this Tidal Lurker (it's a Lobstrosity...). Because, you know, it's the last stream of the month, and I can.

My friend Lee Angold, a brilliant botanical artist, curated a palette working with Roman Szmal. So today I had the joy swatching it.

It's mostly unusual colors that won't come in the basic sets, but work together wonderfully. There is a cmy triad and lots of great mixing possibilities. Lots of these I'd choose for my perfect palette too.
