🚨 URGENT HELP NEEDED TODAY 🚨

I am a 48-year-old disabled man living in poverty, and I am struggling to survive.

Every day is a battle against constant pain, sleepless nights, hunger, declining health, worsening vision, vertigo, mobility issues, cognitive decline, and the harsh reality that my disability income does not come close to covering the cost of living.

I face impossible choices every day:

    Food or hygiene.
    Medication or necessities.
    Survival today or survival tomorrow.

I have no safety net. No financial cushion. No family support. No meaningful support system.

I am asking for help because I genuinely do not know how much longer I can continue carrying this burden alone.

    My Reality

    I live solely on SSDI.

    I have no health insurance.

    I do not drive.

I live in a rural area with no public transportation, meaning everything I need must be delivered or depend on finding someone willing and able to help.

My housing situation is unstable. Part of my rent is paid through helping maintain the property where I live, but my disabilities and declining health are making even those responsibilities increasingly difficult.

I am aging in poverty, and every year brings new physical limitations, more pain, and greater uncertainty.

    I am not getting better.

    I am getting worse.

    My Health Is Declining

    My days are consumed by:

    Chronic pain
    Exhaustion
    High blood pressure fluctuations
    Vertigo and dizziness
    Poor mobility
Knee, hip, ankle, and joint pain
Numbness and weakness in my hands
    Cognitive and executive functioning decline
    Vision problems and light sensitivity
    Dental issues
    Anxiety, PTSD, and Bipolar Disorder

Some days my vision becomes a fuzzy blur. Bright light hurts. Low light makes basic tasks difficult.

If I sit too long, my joints lock up.

If I stand too long, my legs burn and stiffen.

If I lie down, pain spreads throughout my body.

Simple daily activities that most people take for granted are becoming harder and harder to accomplish.

    Why I Am Reaching Out

    I am exhausted.

    Physically.

    Mentally.

    Emotionally.

    Spiritually.

I have spent years contacting organizations, charities, government agencies, advocacy programs, nonprofits, and anyone I could think of for help.

Most of the time I receive lists of resources, referrals, phone numbers, websites, and suggestions.

What I do not receive are results.

I desperately need someone willing to understand my actual circumstances and help create real, concrete solutions.

I do not need more lists.

    I need advocacy.

I need a social worker or case manager who can help navigate housing, healthcare, benefits, food security, transportation, and long-term stability.

    I know resources exist.

I simply cannot seem to access them on my own.

    A Recent Example

A few months ago, I developed a serious dental problem.

The pain became so severe that my landlord had to take me to the emergency room simply to obtain antibiotics.

After extensive effort and repeated requests, I was able to receive an examination and X-rays, only to be referred elsewhere for additional care I could not afford and could not reliably travel to.

Multiple emails and follow-ups produced little more than apologies and delays.

This experience reflects a much larger problem:

Many disabled people are given information about help.

Far fewer are actually able to obtain that help.

    What I Need Most
    Immediate Needs
    Food and groceries
    Hygiene supplies
    Clothing
    Medical and dental care
    Transportation assistance
    Household necessities
    Relief from immediate financial crisis
    Long-Term Needs
    Stable, permanent housing
    Consistent food security
    Reliable healthcare access
    Advocacy and case management
A sustainable future with dignity and security

    My greatest need is stability.

I need a forever home where I can live safely for the rest of my life without constantly fearing homelessness, displacement, or crisis.

    This Is About Dignity

This is not a request for luxury.

It is a plea for dignity.

    Poverty is expensive.

    Disability is exhausting.

    Hunger is cruel.

    Isolation is crushing.

I am trying to survive while my body and mind continue to deteriorate.

Despite everything, I continue to fight every day.

    I continue to hope.

I continue to ask for help.

  10. RE: infosec.exchange/@josephcox/11

I am happy with Posteo for my email.

Email is no secure medium, no matter how many bits you bolt onto the protocol. If you need to communicate confidentially, use Signal, not email.

German police once demanded the IP addresses of Posteo customers and Posteo did not—could not—deliver because they (intentionally) don't even save IP addresses.

If you need your own domain (like [email protected] rather than [email protected]), then I recommend Mailbox.org. Posteo doesn't support custom domains. Mailbox costs 300% of Posteo's price though.

In any case, Proton (via ProtonMail) should not be supported.

  18. Help Today Sure Would Be A True Blessing;

    #Disability #Poverty #Aging #Health

    Financial Needs
    Today's Goal

    $8,455

    Annual Survival Need

    $27,255

    Monthly Survival Need

    $1,500

    Immediate Stabilization Goal

    $25,000

    Long-Term Housing and Security Goal

    $5,000,000

A stable, accessible, permanent property would not only give me safety and security, but potentially allow me to spend the remainder of my life helping others who struggle as I have.

    Final Words

    I am tired.

    I am hungry.

    I am in pain.

I am scared of what tomorrow may bring.

But I am still here, still fighting, and still hoping someone will hear me.

If you have ever known hardship, loss, fear, hunger, loneliness, disability, or uncertainty, then you know that compassion can mean everything.

  19. Anthropic officially filed its Form S-1 with the SEC on Monday, setting up a Nasdaq listing under the ticker ANT. For two years, the private artificial intelligence market operated on private marks, secondary desk whispers, and venture rounds structured around liquidation preferences. Now we have an audited registration statement. The numbers quantify what the foundation model business actually costs to operate.

For the first half of 2026, Anthropic reported $16.3 billion in revenue, up from $1.2 billion in the first half of 2025. That top line came alongside an operating loss of $693 million, narrowed from a $2.1 billion operating deficit a year earlier. The bottom-line net loss touched $80.7 billion, driven by non-cash mark-to-market adjustments on convertible debt instruments that convert upon the offering. At the customer level, Anthropic counts over 11,900 enterprise accounts generating more than $100,000 in annualized spend, 1,900 spending above $1 million, and roughly 250 paying over $10 million annually.

Enterprise software growth at this velocity usually commands extreme valuation multiples. The constraint sits lower on the statement: the off-balance-sheet commitments.

According to the filing, Anthropic has entered into at least $518 billion in multi-year infrastructure commitments with hyperscale cloud and hardware partners over the next decade. Crucially, roughly 80 percent of those contracts are non-cancelable or require fixed payments regardless of actual server utilization. That includes at least $111.1 billion committed to Alphabet, $110 billion to Amazon, $31.4 billion to Microsoft, and $161.2 billion in equipment lease structures tied to Broadcom silicon.

In classical corporate finance, software companies trade at high multiples because their cost structure scales smoothly: gross margins exceed 75 percent, marginal distribution costs approach zero, and capital expenditures stay minimal. Anthropic's cost profile resembles a capital-intensive utility or an industrial commodity refinery. By signing hundreds of billions in take-or-pay cloud obligations, the lab traded variable margin flexibility for dedicated physical capacity.

That commitment creates severe operating leverage. When enterprise inference demand expands, fixed clusters clear high incremental cash flow. But if demand plateaus, or if competing open-source model architectures depress token pricing faster than hardware amortizes, those fixed obligations do not adjust downward. Every empty megawatt of reserved compute drains gross profit straight through to operating cash flow.

The public markets will not price ANT as an asset-light SaaS business. They will price it as a high-beta spread between token real estate yields and non-cancelable debt-like power contracts. When public trading begins, the entire frontier laboratory cohort will finally get marked to market every single morning.#ai #economics #cloud #finance #software #coding #development #engineering #inclusive #community

  20. I see 'analysis' and 'predictions'
    on the Mid-Term:
    ...
The only thing that can push a
    not to go to vote
(he would hardly vote for a Democrat)
Are NOT moral or ethical imperatives,
or protect the future of their children,
or to protect them from pedophiles or rapists,
    thieves, alcoholics,
or 😂 for the 'good of the Nation'.
They happily voted exactly this kind of people to power for racism and to (own the Dem 🤣)
What can stop them to reflect is...
    the cost of gasoline.
    Nothing else.

  21. Why the 8-hour workday is a scam for people with ADHD (like me).

To cater to the way my brain works, I get in the rollercoaster at the start of the workday and I follow the impulses of my brain.

This sounds crazy, but actually I found out that this works better for me than resisting the thoughts and impulses that my brain wants to follow.

    In practice this means that:
    - focus work HAS to happen in the morning or it won't happen at all
    - I do way too many things sequentially, a lot of context switching
    - I am extremely tired by 15:00-16:00 because of said context-switching

I did get a lot done, though. Way more compared to the era where I was cosplaying as a neurotypical person.

This is how I work "with" my ADHD, no meds required.

  22. Earlier this year I saw this incredible cloud, @poemproducer playing live, some old friends and a lot more at the very cute and great Avantgarde Festival in the village Schiphorst east of Hamburg.

Now they need to sell 100 early bird tickets until Halloween to be able to make it happen again.
Tickets cost around 125€ and the early birds include meals and camping for the three days of the festival, that's ridiculously cheap for what's going on there!

    There's more info at avantgardefestival.de/index_en
I really hope they can make it happen again!

  24. @DanielleVossebeld I'm not so sure. It depends on how important finding that quote really is, in the grand scheme of things. There will have been a lot of water used, and energy expended, to do that for you. You may not be paying up front, but AI is definitely a cost to society. Is it worth it, to find your quote? Should we be paying upfront, to reflect the cost of the often trivial info we look for? Should the tech-bros pay more for the resources they profit from? It's complex!!!

  25. My controversial-not-actually-controversial take is that the Meta fine is still too small by a factor of 10, in principle the judge shouldn’t have discounted it (but I realize in practice he’s just trying to get some scrap of it to survive appeal), and if liability were actually an •existential• threat to megacorp instead of a cost line then that would mitigate a whole bunch of societal problems at once.

  26. Razor sells a wireless version of the mouse I already use (I use a Death Adder not for gamer stuff, but because it’s a good, comfortable size/shape—god, do I suck at FPS games these days).
I’ve got a wireless Arteck keyboard that I guess is okay (I have remarkably cheap taste in keyboards, the one I use is an Insignia-branded membrane one that probably cost less than $10, but it’s wired naturally).

  28. "We conducted randomized experiments to study how developers gained mastery of a new asynchronous programming library with and without the assistance of AI. We find that AI use impairs conceptual understanding, code reading, and debugging abilities, without delivering significant efficiency gains on average. Participants who fully delegated coding tasks showed some productivity improvements, but at the cost of learning the library.

"We identify six distinct AI interaction patterns, three of which involve cognitive engagement and preserve learning outcomes even when participants receive AI assistance. Our findings suggest that AI-enhanced productivity is not a shortcut to competence and AI assistance should be carefully adopted into workflows to preserve skill formation -- particularly in safety-critical domains."
