This video about voguing in kpop is quite interesting. It says that voguing started to become popular in Korea after 2017 when certain houses formed and queer balls began to be held.
For most, the dance was seen as cool and is separated from the Queer culture of the US, but many of the choreographers are queer or are associated with these historic houses.
Some good video, but you have to get past her use of a synthetic voice for narration.
