Tiny weekend open source experiment: Had the idea to fork the great #KokoAnalytics plugin (by @dvk) and make it work like Plausible & Co: Add multiple sites with domains and track pageviews for each site in a privacy-friendly (cookie less way).
Goal: Privacy-friendly analytics on every (cheap) PHP webhost. Because all of them offer WordPress, not all offer composer/SSH e.g. for Laravel Filament, etc.

New week, new fun. Time to update/upgrade to the latest version of #ddev.
Maybe that is a good time to summarize my current minimal dev environment on my #M3Max (16/40).
For my daily #PHP work, I have my trusted #PHPStorm. DDEV powers project dev environments, and #OrbStack is my Docker "provider" of choice.
#Warp is my (#zsh) terminal, #Raycast my Spotlight replacement.
#Rust, #zig, #Python and #Typescript dev is done on an #archlinux OrbStack machine and #VSCode remote editing.

Saw the announcement for Laravel Herd (Pro). It is a nice tool, but I am still in favour of #DDEV, as is has the same features and is even more extendible and versatile.
It took me a while, and a new machine, to understand the power of (dev) containers. Orbstack and DDEV are like magic. They make things “just work”.
I wished the Laravel community would embrace existing tools more often than reinventing the wheel. But competition is a good thing too.

I am taking my time to set up my new MacBook Pro M3 Max (16/40 64GB).
After many years of using #Valet for all my #CraftCMS and #Laravel projects, I embrace #DDEV and many of its features from the start.
Together with #OrbStack, as the #DockerDesktop replacement, and the immense performance of the M3 Max, work feels like day and night. And all of this with a "cool" 43 degrees on all the cores and response times half of what I had on my old Intel MBP 2.8 Ghz.
