atproto spaces have launched in early alpha, basically a private atproto protocol
i made an app, try it out if you want, you'll probably break it & that's okay: https://secretsky.at

“Hey Trezy, we know you have to go to sleep soon so you can wake up and drive to Chicago to board a plane to NYC in just a few hours…
“…but look at this shiny new thiiiiiiiing. ✨”
SO RUDE.

I am going to demo my journal editor to som (link below). The links get appended. We're talking about how Obsidian and Automerge and atproto could be best friends.

Bisher ist fast alles in Blueskys AT-Protokoll öffentlich. Doch nun startet die Alpha-Phase für „Atproto Spaces“. Das ist eine neue Erweiterung von #Atproto, die nicht-öffentliche Daten ermöglicht.

My #Swiftlang #ATProto API library, ATProtoKit, has been updated to 0.34.0.
This update finally adds beta support for OAuth. It’s been a long time coming.

I'm now reachable in the fediverse, the matrix and the atmosphere.
(respectively activitypub, matrix, and atproto)
LoRa users, what say you? The frequency? The mesh?
Something else that's not a noun and make it uniquely identifiable?

Shipped! Jetstream 🛩️ is in the Python SDK.
Server-side filtering so you only get what you asked for, dict-zstd for ~65% less bandwidth, and full network replay: snapshot() and replay() sweep the archive and cut over to the live tail with no gap or duplicate.

I have just been testing with different AppViews in @[email protected] (using an eurosky account).
It works but it is not that simple.
Mutes, bookmarks and drafts live on the AppView, so if I configure another AppView then I don't have access to the these.

I finally read Dan Abramov's "Social Filesystem" that I had in my reading list since January - super long, but great stuff 👏 Explains how you can think of #ATProto records, lexicons and repos as files, file formats and directories, and "reinvents" everything from the basic underlying ideas.

Last week I’ve been working on optimizing some lower-level data decoding code in my #Ruby libraries for #ATProto, with the help of my bot buddy which turned out to be surprisingly good at identifying good areas to optimize in the profiling output.
I wrote a bit about this in a blog post here (partly for myself to have some notes left from this work): https://lab.mackuba.eu/3mtc4fwdzvc22 #rubylang

I'm reading about AT Protocol, and it reminded me of Solid and the concept of PODs. Couldn't an atproto PDS (Personal Data Server) be able to connect to a Solid POD? You would allow the PDS to fetch some data (which would become public, relayed through atproto), while the rest of the data remains private.
- Solid POD: keeps all your data
- atproto PDS: can access a subset of your data (public data)
- the rest of atproto works as usual -
