@liaizon #Bridgy is the incumbent on the #ActivityPub / #ATProto bridging front, and currently the only "production grade" system available to the general user, right ?

@ahaldorsen Hey! I’m pretty active in #atproto, been a bit of my hobby for a while.
Happy to answer any questions you might have. The plc is always a hot one. We do have read only replicas, I have one running in a server rack at my house at https://plc.wafflehouse.dev. It feeds from an upstream one, like the main one from https://plc.directory
I guess it really depends on the meaning of decentralized and what counts. The organization of it is/has moved to a Swiss association more on that here
https://atproto.com/blog/plc-directory-org
You can also stand up your own read/write plc that is a split from the current one if it’s ever needed and users have the ability to prove it’s them to change the PDS and other credentials there if their PDS is pointed at that plc or they have what’s called a rotation key

Currently, Flare or OpenVibe are the top contender.----
Asking for a project:
What does one use nowadays to simultaneously post & interact with #ActivityPub & #ATProto?
To specify: I'm looking for a client that I can use with existing accounts in both ecosystems.fed.brid.gy is great, but not what I'm looking for...
I'm more interested in some kind of unified timeline / mentionsApps like Indigo or Croissant look good, but are Apple exclusive :(

Happy weekend from Japan! ☀️
Today’s post on my website is a scene from a lovely traditional noodle restaurant in Takao in northern Kyoto. A nice place for a quiet lunch after visiting Jingoji and other temples in the area.

@rolle @stefan I looked into Eurosky. They seem like an ok organisation and I'm rooting for them, but it's a bit sad if they're only strengthening the power of Bluesky and encourage more centralization that way. And maybe Bluesky will have to enshittify their network at some time to satisfy investors?

@rolle @stefan You seem both active on ATproto and interested in decentralization. Do you have any thoughts (or other people's written thoughts) about the centralization of the DIDs (afaik the Bluesky company is administering all these IDs on the protocol) and how resource intensive it is to run ones own relay, compared to ATproto?

Hey, I opened a proposal to create a working group for games on atproto! I'm want to make the work that I and others have already done more useful for applications across the ATmosphere.
If you're interested in co-chairing, helping out, or just participating, let me know!

Always hated that I could never answer the question "Well how many accounts has https://pdsmoover.com migrated?" for my #atproto accoun migration tool. My guess is probably north of 5k at this point, maybe more, maybe less. But after last weeks release I can say it has migrated 34 accounts in the last 7 days.
In addition it is also backing up 3,447 different identities so if their PDS ever goes away or turns evil users can create a new account with all their posts, pictures, likes, and followers/followings just like nothing ever happenedaccount.

@aral @_elena @EUCommission I wonder if the shareholders were aware that #WSocial have not bothered to implement the entire #ATProto stack, incl. "labeling" (aka the moderation layer)? If you only self-host your PDS, of course you'll remain by default under the jurisdiction of bsky moderators. #Blacksky for eg. have already implemented their own "labeling", so W has no excuse.
