As usual, we aim to provide actionable content you can use to destroy Techno Feudalism each week. It has the additional benefit of weakening authoritarianism. what if we could get all the newsletter alternatives to #substack to support the fedi? such that if you wrote on any of them, the article could be boosted here (I call it being #APnative). people use SS cause it gets them lots of attention but we could provide the hub around which to organize an open alternative ecosystem for attention.
obviously #ghost and #wordpress and #writeas are on board. #medium? I know @buttondown is here. what about #beehiiv? others?

I'd like to have a search box in a pinned blogpost at https://write.underworld.fr/settima.
Does anyone have a good lead as how to add a search box to a #WriteFreely blog? Samples on the forum reference Glitch (now defunct) and #WriteAs (not the same as WF). DDG would be okay but any non-US search engine is preferred.

Does anyone know how to set the date on a post imported into #writeas? I'm moving my #blogs over to write.as because I'm totally sick of the WordPress horseshit.
I'd hoped that I could export the posts as #json or #csv, edit the date fields, and re-import them...but that didn't work...
And, I don't understand why, but I can't create an account on the silly write.as discuss forum.

🚨 Breaking News: Servers Need Naptime Too! 💤 Apparently, Write.as is so overwhelmed by the riveting topic of server #infrastructure that it's decided to take an impromptu #snooze 🤷♂️. Fear not, paying users—your posts are caffeinated and insomniac-ready! ☕️✨

Finally fixed the issue when switching between the Plain and Rich Text editor and your posts contain HTML. Now it won't break! (Coming to @write_as shortly)

What? A social network started with funds from an AI mongering billionaire is weaving AI into its "features"? What kind of topsy-turvy reality is this??
Get a #WAFRN, #Mastodon, or other #federated social account and stop following hypetrains and billionaires.

I wrote up the devotional I gave for work this afternoon. It's on magical thinking. Treat it like a first draft written in about 15 mins because it is 😂

Looking to migrate my writing portfolio located at https://howdoyouspell.cool/rootcompute/ to a new WriteFreely instance. If anybody can suggest a stable, long-term destination I can count on to be a 1:1 replacement, let me know! Should I just switch to write.as?

"I'll make an introduction later" I said… like a day ago. WOOPS!! :A_BlobCat_Approach:
Hey everyone, this is Nemes Content, but a lot of my online friends call me Macro. I'm a Canadian dork who dabbles in content creation and hops around cool social medias lately. Heard this place is like fediverse tumblr and decided to try it out. Ironically, I'm trying to be on social media less, but still wanted to try it out. :A_BlobCat_Bongo:
My biggest interests are in tech and videos games. My favoriate games include pokemon, elder scrolls, COTL, Kenshi and a lot more. I also do art from time to time when I'm not making videos for the youtube channel. Mostly I cover gaming and tech stuff on there, but sometimes I branch out.
Glad to be here, don't know how active I'll be though. :spinny_cat:

I really love #writeas, but I wish it had better customization. Modding in the browser is a bit unconfortable

We just fixed an issue that affected only Write.as blogs, hosted on a custom domain, with a custom fediverse handle -- now readers shouldn't have any issues getting your posts in the fediverse!
This was a weird issue that had to do with the server-side caching we use for custom domains. Should all be fixed now, but please let me know if you still notice any issues!

Just found this today -- an @obsidian plugin to publish posts directly to Write.as! Works really nicely.

Making some small housekeeping updates to our #Writeas / #WriteFreely command-line client. I'd like to add a lot of basic missing functionality to it, so it's much more useful for everyone.
