#PostmarketOS: #expressatt: converting expressatt to a generic device

i'm liking the idea of a generic device encapsulating all devices in an arch. there are now generic pkgs for x86_64 and ppc64le with aarch64 in the pipeline

decided to open a pr (but more like an rfc) for how to do the same for armv7

OnePlus 6T unbricked thanks to advice from @cas! 🎉

I've installed #PostmarketOS #Duranium on it because I think an image-based OS is a better fit for phone. Now I just need to figure out how to make Waydroid work because that doesn't seem to be straightforward on Duranium and there isn't a lot of documentation.

@Tutanota i would not yet feel that issue because microG would never implement such anti-features, and if google puts that into aosp then would i need to worry tbh, but i already am switching over to #plasmaMobile6 on #PostmarketOS and with it away from the bloat of android but i am stuck on 2 apps that need AVB so no waydroid and for them do i use a seperate phone running #IodeOS.
i hope that this pushes the devs of android roms to maybe switch and contribute to #mobilelinux for more freedom.

When I install and try to run either Snapshot or Gnome Camera (on an updated and rebooted PlaMo+PmOS edge build) I get the Gnome popup below with the "Yes" button missing.

Also when this happens it disables swipe-down. Switching windows/apps makes down swipe work again.

So far everything else (touchscreen, wifi, sound, homescreen, settings) works!

Modules like #SPIflash are really important to achieve the goal we've set at #postmarketOS: device support for 10 years and more. Once a device is fully mainlined and can boot using a generic #UEFI image we no longer have to put any effort in supporting this particular device. Everything will "just work". Just like no distro put any effort in making it boot with my particular desktop and laptop.
