- wayland was super easy to setup. x11 was a pain
- the automated qemu tests are pretty interesting
- i hope alpine can also use pmbootstrap to configure alpine imgs one day

В предыдущей статье о моей домашней сети я рассказал об использовании локального агента для её настройки и поднятия разных интересных сервисов. Однако почти сразу я столкнулся с тем, что встроенной оперативки моего роутера (256 МБ) перестало хватать. Запустил AdGuard Home, telemt‑форк под OpenWRT, далее попробовал поднять v2ray со списками разрешенных серверов — и тут же OOM безжалостно начал убивать процессы. Кажется, что можно было купить новый роутер, с б о льшим количеством оперативки — но роутеры с 1Гб или более RAM сейчас стоят недешево. И тут меня посетила идея: «А что если взять старый смартфон в качестве сервера?». В этом гайде я расскажу, как пройти путь от выбора и покупки б/у телефона на торговой площадке до рабочего мини-сервера под управлением PostmarketOS с Podman и запущенным на нём AdGuard Home. А также как я облажался в процессе этого пути, прилично ограничив возможности моего сервера.

@agx @hugoposnic Managed to unlock the screen from ssh. The typing input is now bonkers, see video. I have the impression that there are two touch keyboards active simultaneously, maybe the emergency debug keyboard is invisible but active?

Jolla phones with SailfishOS have roughly the same caveats as a de-Googled Android phones do. Other native Linux mobile operating are also available: #postmarketos, #mobian, #manjaro, #droidian and #ubuntutouch. Android support can be added with #waydroid.

Is anyone coming to the #postmarketOS conference with a fairphone 6 that I could hack on for a few hours? I would like to try and debug this issue so we can get #duranium working on the fp6, but I don't own one of these 🙃

I would need to install pmOS on it, which means reflashing (so don't volunteer if you rely on your device for anything 😅)

My #pinephone (Arch Linux Arm) looses 1% battery every 30 seconds. OK, remove it and replace it with #postmarketos. Unfortunately the WLAN is so sloooow that a connection to my mail provider runs in timeout - it works fine on my laptop. Adding a nextcloud account does not work either. A dialog box appears to enter a password for the keyring, I suppose. But except for the two password entry fields, there is no button to continue and no way out. Who has a working distro for the #pinehone ?
