A couple of days ago I retired my #Fairphone2, running #UbuntuTouch. A sentimental moment in time, which deserved to be portrayed.

I got it used for about 40EUR. By far the filthiest device I've ever cleaned, but by the time I was done, it looked and worked perfectly. I always had it lying face down, so that anyone passing by could see the logo, perhaps curiously ask something. No one ever did, but I'm sure they noticed.

In any case, it's time to move on and let the FP2 be - the fairwellphone.

Here we go.
Background. We try to resist as much as possible getting rid of electronics if they still work. E.g. we have an old dual-core Acer laptop that we installed #zorin_os and we use it for streaming.
So this year's project is changing the #AndroidOS in a Breeze tablet with Linux; with #ubuntutouch. It will surely be painful as tablets are finicky, but it will also be a learning experience. Apart from rescuing a good tablet, it will be a stepping stone for the same on our phones.
