Been thinking about building a "cyberdeck" that's just a square smartwatch mounted under a magnification lens, hooked up to a USB hub and handheld keyboard.
Maybe even an extra battery.
(even if the magnifying glass setup makes it obscenely thick, it could still be a better value for money than most of the Raspberry Pi handhelds)

2. Überwachung der Wege. #Mobilität sollte anonym möglich sein. #Datenschutz, #Datensparsamkeit etc.
3. Verantwortung wird auf Nutzer/in abgewälzt: Batterie muß voll sein, eventuell muß Internet funktionieren, OS-Updates, usw. Viel #mentalLoad.
Kein #ÖPNV-Tarif sollte Menschen ohne #Smartphone benachteiligen!

On my way to #LinuxDays. And as you could guess from the green tinted photo, I am posting this from #Tuba on a #LinuxPhone again.
This time I switched to #Nura #Duranium with #Posh on OnePlus 6 as the previous PostmarketOS/Nura installation was quite broken after several upgrades.

@valhalla @fisherdude I'm running both #PureOS and pmOS / #Nura on two #Librem 5s. While I appreciate that pmOS generally has newer software especially phosh, PureOS has a newer kernel and the latest Firefox ESR, plus things like camea, gps and memory management is way better without any tweaking. I'm currently using GNOME Maps on PureOS for navigation, and location fix only takes a few seconds, and faster if Wi-Fi is on although still not as fast as Android (yet).

@nura How close are we to having a single phone that meets all the listed features required for "main"?
Honestly, that's all I need as long as the camera is decent.

So.... I bricked the kindle as I forgot you shouldn't mess with device tree without a backup plan. I have a deconstructed kindle with serial for my development and should have used that.
The kindle is a pain to take apart, as I know the board fairly well I've taken a different approach... An adventure in 4 pictures

After a lot of work Ive managed to get near-mainline kernel and #postmarketos (now #nura but my image built before the change) booting on kindle paperwhite3 without opening it up and accessing the serial port. The installation is a bit convoluted but doable. Current have WiFi/screen/touchscreen/backlight all working, and issue with usb right now.
I've nearly finished packaged it up to be submitted as an MR even with the slightly convoluted installation
