I have an #XMPP tip for you: such a group should be created as a "public" group, not "private" (at the time of group creation). It avoids OMEMO errors (messages getting lost, or being rendered unreadable, should anyone leave for, say 2.5 weeks at a time). I spent a long time, getting accustomed to the XMPP ecosystem (1.5 years; ran my own server). It was an Autistic "special interest" of mine, so I know about all these ugly little details.

I've been wooed over to Deltachat instead. It has some warts of its own (as is always the case), but overall I think it's better. The group-encryption is automatic/mandatory, and more resilient to group changes/absences, as compared to XMPP's OMEMO. And the ability to add multiple "relays" is really unparalleled, to my knowledge. 🤌

I can make a new #Deltachat group you can join if you like. Anyone else #ActuallyAutistic interested? DM me if so.

@elena it really sounds like an LLM indeed, so disappointing. At first I suspected your issue was due to your phone restricting Signal from working on the background (see https://support.signal.org/hc/fr/articles/360007318711-R%C3%A9solution-des-probl%C3%A8mes-de-notification) but it sounds like this was more of a server related issue. I had some sync bugs with Signal lately, nothing dramatic but it did happen.
I'm pushing some family members to use #Deltachat (using my 10 years old daughter as a reason to, since she has a personal account she can use on a laptop at home).
