Building a bash script package for Gentoo to setup a basic email server as I try to get all of the parts together. There are options to build Docker servers for it, but I don't understand Docker well enough to really try it.

Heute ist ein DIDit Tag für mich. Ich habe erfolgreich Mailcow auf einem Contabo VPS zum laufen gebracht.
Der Backup auf meine Hetzner StorageBox läuft auch schon.Also wer sich mit dem Gedanken trägt, einen eigenen E-Mail Server aufzusetzen, ich kann Mailcow nur empfehlen:
- Super Dokumentation.
- Klare Vorgaben für die DNS Konfiguration.
- Unglaublich benutzerfreundlich durch SoGo.
- Einfache Phone Einrichtung durch Konfigurationspakete.
- …
Also traut euch!
Ich habe jetzt erst mal einen Test E-Mail Account und werde nach und nach meine E-Mail Konten migrieren.

Does anyone know of a good guide to setting up your own email server for sending and receiving email? So SMTP, IMAP, spam protection, DNS records and PGP setup?

I remember hearing about a guy who set the #emailserver on his own domain so that any #email address would forward to his address and then had his email client make an individual folder for every address. This way every website he signed up with a unique email address (and folder) and he would know who leaked his email to spammers.
Anyone know if this is still possible. Like could I find a #hostingservice willing to do this at reasonable price?

Long planned, but now with enhanced motivation due to #SMTPSmuggling attack I finally replaced my old #EMailServer based on #Postfix and applied the workarounds.
Beside that I completely replaced the server hardware and all the VMs for Calendar, Files and Web (last one still WIP).
