  1. If you enjoyed the I highly recommend hunting down a collection of his paintings called "What Shall We Do Without Us: The Voice And Vision of Kenneth Patchen" (hint: check out Library Genesis).

    Every man is me,
    I am his brother.
    No man is my enemy.
    I am Everyman
and he is in and of me.
    This is my faith,
    my strength,
    my deepest hope,
    and my only belief.

Take a look at his book: "The Journal of Albion Moonlight" archive.org/details/journalofa

  3. Had to go to the doc’s this morning because my ears have spent the last week being bozos (I’m fine, thankfully it’s just allergies). The view out the window is one I’ve never captured to my liking, but today’s is fun and I officially dig this one.

Despite me being the only person in the waiting area and rows of empty seats behind me, twice a person chose to sit opposite and facing me, under the window, so that I was continually looking up at them and then down at my paper. Both of them had this funny moment of awareness, glancing up from their clipboards, when they realized I was in fact drawing the tree behind them, not them.

Greg: It’s so cute! Wait, what is THAT?

Me: Oh, that’s the jar of cotton balls in the exam room. Observe, how I have seamlessly blended the view of the gas station with the view of cotton balls.

    Greg: <nods> Obviously

  4. 🧵 This yellow paper was dyed with an extremely stinky plant dye from our museum garden (Rubia tinctorum: never again! Smelled like an animal corpse).
And you can clearly see that I waited for a hospital appointment to find out if my meniscus has been exploded. Luckily, it’s still sitting nicely in place, I'm not a corpse yet, and I’ve gained a new page for my project! 🤭 😁

  8. @tansy AI is already scraping every creative "content".
At the moment, I'm feeling extremely angry that they potentially scrape even my voice from my podcast.
    or look at this: 404media.co/this-company-is-se
    archived: archive.ph/eywrc

My blog is clicked much more often by AI scraping bots than real readers.

My self-therapy against exploding is a new interest in the again growing #zine movement. #Zines, #Artjournals, and #Artbooks have a comeback.

  9. Do you have a favorite blurring app for iOS or Mac OS? I'd like to post more of my art, but much of it lives in art journals with personal journaling. I'd like an easy way to blur the often very-irregularly-shaped sections of text.

I'm using Skitch here, it seems to have worked okay but it bulked it up to a 20 MB png, yowza. Are there better options?

"When life hands you lemons, make poetry comics." - That's how the saying goes, right? 🙃

I still haven't found my stolen sketchbook journal dumped anywhere and so far as I know, no one else has either, so probably it's gone forever. That's hard. I have a crap memory. It's like 5 months of my life are just - gone. And yet, the outpouring of kindness from strangers has been an unexpected gift, and I am deeply grateful for it. It's hard to express how deeply I feel that, really, but - the other day I was thinking about this, and also thinking about how important it is to spend more time looking forward and less time looking back. And it suddenly occurred to me: maybe what I've gained is more valuable than what I've lost.
