Here in our village, all the bus stops are currently being renovated one by one to make them accessible. This is one of the construction sites right now.
The mobile excavator had a lot more hoses and who knows what else attached to its arm.
This time, using the Graphitint pencils by derwent went much better. At home, I spiced up a few spots with the Derwent Inktense.

The Stuttgart USK meet-up at the Venezianische Messe on the market square in Ludwigsburg was a real highlight. There was a lively, colorful atmosphere with lots of cheerful people in costume. When I asked Tina, Petra, and Jeannette if I could sketch them, they thought it was funny and were happy to oblige. Their costumes were stunningly beautiful. I just had to hurry. So there was still time for one more quick sketch.

A winery's wine bar here in our village. You can book it for parties or events.
Using Derwent Inktense and Graphitint pencils was harder than I thought. The drawing itself was much easier, but choosing the right shades wasn’t. I feel like the colors lack a bit of intensity. I guess I was too cautious and lacked experience. I’ll probably have to practice a bit more with these pencils at home.

Because of the special light, I wanted to do a sketch in the evening again. I noticed this interesting lighting a few days ago. Yesterday, I started painting as soon as twilight set in, because I knew I’d simply need more time.
And then I realized the big lantern in the foreground was broken. I hadn’t even noticed that before.😂
By the time it was dark, I didn’t even know which shades I was picking up on my palette to paint.🤔

My little Sennelier watercolor sketchbook is almost full.
I didn’t find the spiral binding very easy to handle, even though the quality was very good. (Too good for my purposes.) The small 9x14 cm format also took some getting used to. On the other hand, it fit perfectly into any small bag.
The day before yesterday, I didn’t have much time but still wanted to go urban sketching. The size was just right for a quick sketch. -
These are really the very last sketches from our #hike in #Piedmont in July.
I’ve kept practicing drawing people. And I still find it darn hard, especially profiles.
I prefer drawing people from behind.
One of them is my husband, who had fallen asleep on a bench. The other sketch was also done at Lago di Mucrone, above the Rifugio Rosazza.

While sorting through the vacation photos from our #hike in #Piedmont I discovered a few more sketches. They weren’t in the actual #sketchbook but in A6 format.
One is of the Santuario di Oropa, where we sat together comfortably with other hikers in the evening.
The second sketch is of the Lago di Mucrone above the Rifugio Rosazza. The teenagers weren’t swimming. They were just standing around for the sake of the scene, so they served as my models.

I was out and about in our village again, sketching. I had chosen an interesting brick corner house as my next subject to draw. Painting the bricks, however, turned out to be an even bigger challenge than I had expected. At one point, the drawing didn’t look good at all. A 1/4" flat brush, a white acrylic marker, and Quinacridone Burnt Orange saved it, in my opinion. Now it’s okay. It could have turned out much worse.

After painting sunflowers in the style of van Gogh and copying Japanese woodblock prints, I've returned to my favorite hobby - #UrbanSketching
Even though it was still very warm in the evening, I set out to do some urban sketching in our village. I had already picked out this beautiful store with the large display windows as my subject. The reflections in the windows turned out a little strange, but I gave it a try.
