I did keep my sketchbook out and have some more fun with the acrylic markers and white gel pen from before. I'm used to using soft pastel colours, but these are so bold and bright, it was a really fun change of pace!

Trippy Tudor Rose design DONE.
It was fun to play around with the acrylic PENS. Some colours were much harder to get even than others - especially the purple!

I keep thinking I’ve bought all the art supplies I’ll ever need, but then a new medium appears in a shiny colorful rainbow of colors, and I cant help but indulge. Welcome to my new 72 set of Jusart acrylic paint pens!
There are dozens of sets of acrylic markers to choose from. I’m pretty happy with the set I got. It has a nice selection of colors and a nice case. They were among the cheapest per pen but with the highest reviews (4.8/5). There are smaller sets, and other brands sell sets with hundreds of colors.
If you value lightfastness, you could also look at Posca or the extra fancy Molotow. Molotow are refillable, retippable (tips are exchangeable and highly varied), lightfast, waterproof. They say they are worth the premium, but they’re also 6 or 7 times the price of my cheap ones.
The one thing lacking in the set I bought are enough colors with a darker value (8 or 9 out of 10). So I just ordered another small set of nine more “colorful blacks” to fill in that gap.

We went to the lake for a #urbanSketching session yesterday. It's been a wonderful day, even if the weather was all grey and windy.
I focused my attention on this modernist structure, a holiday home, built (illegally?) during the 70s. Probably it once was source of pride and social distinction for the owners, but it's seen better days. I made this for my mom's birthday, using acrylic paint markers. I like how the fur came out. Not so happy with the face, but that's more the fault of the weird cut he had in the photo. I was originally intending to fix it in the painting, but did not end up doing so unfortunately. Still, it was fun to do! I will have to do another that's a closeup on his happy face.
