I was once again in #Dresden in March.
By then, spring had arrived and my mood had improved considerably. 😄

"Who would have thought that getting up after sitting on the floor and drawing for two hours could be so tedious?"

Here is my sketch from the last day of International Urban Sketchers Week. It's an annual event every 1st - 7th of May. We were so lucky to have Inhong Park as a guest with Urban Sketchers Oslo, and we had a good opportunity to observe her approach to urban sketching.
I sketched her sitting on her stool sketching the opera house in Oslo.

Not all of my drawings turn out well. In January I made one which I find downright gloomy.
That day it was grey and cold outside and I was in a rotten mood and stressed. I only made the drawing because I had some free time, my watercolor travels set was in my suitcase and I'm stubborn.
At least I learned something from it: Next time I'm in such kind of mood, I'd better do some #doodling or make #NeurographicArt
That will definitely improve my mood.

This is a friends house. She saw me drawing and came over for a chat. She thought it was funny that I had even drawn the cat stairs. (It's the plank leaning against the tree.) I had no idea what it was when I drew it, but I drew it anyway. 😄

I tried to draw the same view last October and was completely overwhelmd. That's why I simply left out various details.
There were some things I couldn't recognize or interpret.
Now I'm trying simply to draw a line without always knowing what it actually is.

A quick rough #urbansketching of a shift-manager's meeting at the mega coffee place. It's a good job, I think, so people take the meeting seriously and look at metrics maybe.

Back to watercolour today. This is my super low tinting palette. Hence the weird look. Also, first try of this plein air setup with magnetic clips. It works well enough.

Here's some #urbansketching from last nights 2x-monthly sketch group. It's a cosplayer referencing some fantasy movie that I didn't figure out. Not sure. Anyway, a sketch on 14x18 inch xuan paper, which behaves like kleenex when using ink.

Today’s sketch. Trying out being super loose and painting broad colour shapes first and then refining with pencil. I am not yet sure if that’s my style, but it’s quick and I can see how this could work on location.

Yesterday, I met a friend for coffee.
I tried to draw her and she took the opportunity to try out the "portrait modus" of her new mobile phone camera. Admittedly, her photos were much better than my drawings. 😂
We had great fun and I made her at least 40 years younger.
I had no idea how to draw the wrinkles with my Fude Sailor Pen. 🤔
Maybe it's easier with pencil or water soluble #ink ?
I want to practice drawing people because they make #urbansketching more vivide.
