Ran into a baffling thing today. Our statewide ILL system uses Encore for its online catalog, and if you have a title that includes a boolean term, such as the word not, it automatically recognizes it as a boolean command (even if you didn’t put it in all caps). So for instance, a book called These Are Not The Stories will not come up in a search unless you omit the word not. It seems like there has to be a way to adjust this on the back end!

First day back to work after over a week out of office and I managed to not only get through all my email but even cataloged some new items that had arrived! Also heard good news that we got two grants I wrote, just waiting on the third application we have out there, which I'm a little skeptical we'll get. Tomorrow evening is the book launch for our local author project (another grant) and I'm so excited to celebrate the 34 books we helped publish!

Vom 20. bis 24.04.2026 besuchte uns Patrizia Calò.

Sie erhielt Einblicke in verschiedene Arbeitsbereiche, darunter Benutzung, Medienbearbeitung, #OpenAccess und #OER. Im Gegenzug stellte sie ihre Arbeit in Bari vor. Im Mittelpunkt standen der Austausch und der Vergleich von Arbeitsweisen an europäischen Hochschulbibliotheken.
