Finished the sea-themed freeform crochet jacket! Grim message: dying sun choked by forest fires, tsunamis and maelstroms, stormy smoky skies. Only light bits are crystal beads on the star and lightning and the handmade buttons from Magpie's Eye on Etsy. Most yarn from UK indies, especially Yarntings, Yarn Unique and Bow Fiddle Yarns.

My first scrap yarn crochet rug on the blocking board to even out the edges. Made with 5 strands of DK yarn and a 9mm hook, as one colour runs out, you attach another, crocheting over the ends as you go. This makes the gradual colour shifts. An absolute stashbuster, it's used up all my bright acrylic cheap yarn from charity shops and leftovers. Ended up about 1m square. I may edge it - see how well it blocks.

Green Man (or woman or Green Person) take two... I had to go to Newcastle for more wool. Probably not 7 more shades but that's what happens when you go for two. Nose really isn't finished... looks suspiciously like genitalia/reproductive organs at the minute!
