#BulletJournal s have helped me a lot. I've just made a companion app that backs up #journal pages or other #handwritten #notes by scanning with a phone camera. It also does full text search, copy-paste from your notes, and I'm adding more features.
I could use help with testing and feedback before the full release - especially from #Android users. iOS users are also welcome!

Ugh. I have been so overworked (in a part-time job, FFS) that I've just been randomly throwing notes into my #Obsidian inbox or leaving them to languish, lost and forgotten, in my Daily Notes or my physical #notebooks .
And so today I set out to clean up my notes on one topic and one topic only and....
Sigh.
Two hours of unproductive confusion and overwhelm. I give up.

2 o 3 años que tengo una agenda de tapa dura esperando su momento. Pues nada estoy a un 90% de pasarme un par de dias haciendo rayas y poniendo fechas a mano.
El setup va a ser fusilao del sistema weekly. Eso está clarinete.
Antes ponía las colecciones delante pero creo que las voy a mover atrás ya que el número de semanas es fijo y las colecciones ya sabemos.
La única pena no haber pillado en cuadrados o blanca

I have always had bad handwriting but it has gotten better over the past couple of years by simply journaling. This week, inspired by [Neal Stephenson's post](https://nealstephenson.substack.com/p/writing-by-hand-is-good-for-your) I bought a cheap-ish fountain pen. Writing with it is a different world
Never in my life would I have thought I would care about such things, but here I am.

CW: Today... 2026 July 12 ... Hot hot hot...
Not really that hot, just I got really hot because I kind of screwed up the eating outside thing, and we don't have a patio umbrella, so while it was relatively cool out, it was at the time (about 2 hours) that the deck doesn't get shade.
There's time in the morning as well.
But I wrote some days ago (I'm not entire oh yesterday) about trying #Zettlekasten, or some sort of knowledge or reading, or whatever system. @[email protected] sent a post from a couple of years ago (18 months? almost 20 months).
I've not read it, but the thing that I kind of felt with what I was just "feeling" about it, is I need to just do something. The getting started is probably a big part. This is what most of what I've seen has said. It's more specific than I'm comfortable with. But then, so was #BulletJournal #BuJo, and I found my way way to that working out.

Das #BuJo-Tum hatte ich mir übrigens angeschaut und es auch versucht. Aber meine #Notizbücher sind mehr so Formen von #Journal und #Tagebuch geworden. Es ist also mehr Denken auf Papier und Introspektion. Den Selbstorganisationteil übernimmt bei mir wieder #2DoApp.

@Doomscroll I can't say I'm constantly at zero. Life gets too busy for that.
And I also get how #InboxZero can lead to a tyranny of the inbox, where you exhaust yourself trying to keep up.
That said ... periodically getting to zero helps me stay on track.
My bullet journal? That's mandatory. If I skip a day or two of my #bujo, things get wibbly-wobbly.

Since getting chosen to present my workshop “How to edit your terrible tech writing” at MacAdmins Conference at Penn State, I've written six pages of notes and ideas.
Just finished throwing them into sticky notes in Freeform on my computer to help me organize thoughts and topics.
Writing the presentation and putting together the Keynote slides has usually been time consuming but easy. But I’ll still probably agonize over the introduction.

This kind of journaling stresses me out. It's a recipe for disappointment. It's like that old board game Operation. Or maybe a real operation, and I'm the surgeon. And the patient. And no one has any idea what's going on, but we can all tell we're fucked.
