IDK if i'll finish this but it's for a short story about how i met my BFF online and how she's totally real and not just some teenager who put on a ryona stageplay for an unknowing kid in elementary school 🌈 ... and how i learned that sometimes people lie on the internet!
- the fiction i befriended, and was led to believe was real, was one of physical and emotional abuse, self-harm, suicidal ideation, drugs, terminal illness, and death.
- the reality i lived was a feeling of responsibility to always be online, and be a fun distraction. my own health declining while i was trying to uplift a piece of make-believe as someone who had it worse. waiting for a sign that she was still alive, then grief when she "wasn't" and the grand finale: 🎉 psychosis!
so that sucked, but i guess i did get a "best friend forever" out of it cuz decades later, darkfic hasn't left me 👍
