My KoF 15 Team is Vanessa-Clark-Ralf, aka Ikari Mercenaries. It's not a canon team. Just two Ikari Warriors and a (canonical) MILF boxer mercenary (no seriously. That's her backstory. housewife and mercenary)
No moody teens. No special orphans (sorry Leona). No magic bloodline. No sacred treasures. No bosses. No projectiles. No plot relevance.
Just grownups who pay taxes and beat ass.
I am not good at this game yet.

I am bad at #KingOfFighters 15 in a deeper, more fundamental way than i am bad at #StreetFighter 6 and there's a kind of peace there, in knowing that my Vanessa is bad cause i can't do basic combos instead of knowing my Marisa is sorta bad because i don't whiff punish every 2MK w a 5HK combo

#KingOfFighters is a fun fighting game and a good reprieve from feeling like I need to improve at Street Fighter 6.
I'm objectively better at SF6 but KoF15 has novelty that I've never fully explored and matchups I've never even considered and I'm having fun.
If I'm not gonna be a tourney player in either game, I should play the one that's fun to improve at right now, the one my friends and I can bond over.

It's cute and Fisher-Price colored, which her mom and I agreed on. I designed and 3D printed the top cover out of "clear" PETG, which took 5 revisions to fit everything in
The metal shell is no lie pulled from spare parts for a discontinued medical device from a job I worked a decade ago.
the buttons and stick and USB-C passthrough on the back came from https://arcadeshock.com/ whose warehouse is close enough for me to buy in person instead of shipping.
I threw some cheap rainbow RGB in there to glow beneath the translucent faceplate
I 3D printed the adapter forthe USB port on the back as wellThe bottom right text says "Starfist" (inside joke with my wife) but it isn't super legible. Hoping a future 3D print will come out a little clearer
The last picture is of my fightstick, so you can see what she was reaching for. We are an American household and by God I, my wife, and my daughter all prefer bat top levers instead of the common ball top ones.

A couple of my Street Fighter or Tekken friends had a blast playing #KingOfFighters 15 with me this weekend and we've decided to try and be mediocre at it.
We're defining that as having a gameplan for each team member, a reason for the team composition and order, and at least one, real, useful, normal>special>super confirm. Lv 2, Lv 3, and MAX mode are optional. No requirement to pick a tourney viable team. None of us are going to get good enough for tier lists to matter.
The game is fun and i love the cast, i just recognize how inept i feel playing it, especially compared to how proficient i feelat Street Fighter 6. Soooo let's fix that.
I already have a character crisis trying to fit Shermie onto my existing Clark, Ralf, and Vanessa team. It's a good problem to have.
