The Parramatta Zone Fair is back for 2026!
This event is a great opportunity to support grassroots independent artists, journalists, and activists.
The zine creators range from migrants, to young queer and gender diverse folks, to people who are neurodivergent or have disabilities, to committed activists. And there's a broad array of topics and experiences covered in their work.

"Parramatta Zine Fair is a vibrant and creative celebration rooted in Burramattagal country. Over the course of a weekend, the fair will spotlight different voices, languages and communities of Greater Western Sydney through the work of local zine-makers, artists, designers, photographers, writers and independent publishers.
"This year, the School of Zines will be celebrating its second birthday with a special exhibition of artworks and publications from the workshop alumni!

#epub #zines, maybe? For curated, copyable, existing in many places, human-made, personal publications?
Edge-definition close-ish to "zine" (because it's only physical if someone prints the epub) but also... a format that can be distributed and kept in local storage. Not subject to random "cloud changes," so stable... Readable on MANY devices and platforms... #DRMfree, of course

I wrote a review of a great zine I read recently, which I highly encourage you to get your hands on (it's print only, and worth it!).
It's a zine that is also a love letter, in some ways. If you like weird art and have a fondness for what computing was like before _gestures vaguely_, I think you'll like it, too.
