I've used a gradient overlay layer effect to color the background layer, which is a duplicate of the original photo. On top of that is the stand alone car using hand drawn path mask that has been rasterized and which has a tiny gaussian blur of 0.2. That way I can effortlessly blend the fore- and background, color correct the isolated car while keeping shadows naturally.

I don't miss photoshop much, Affinity has enough features and my work doesn't require complex tools much. But sometimes I yearn for automated tools like selecting objects in product photo's. Here I've hand drawn the mask for the Dreamcruiser by hand, which isn't much of a bother since the outline is pretty clean and my main tool is vector drawning anyway. But still...
