  1. Jarrón de porcelana con imágenes de leones entre nubes y flores elaborado en los hornos imperiales de Jingdezhen durante el reinado del emperador Kangxi (1661-1722). 🏛️Museo Victoria & Alberto #china #ceramica #ceramics

  2. The final results of my reformulation of Mary Fox's liner glaze with Spanish materials. No fucking ferro frit! Wollastonite instead of whiting to lessen the microbubbling.

FB3 is the glaze with 2% Manganese dioxide, and it is beautiful. It breaks over the edges so wonderfully. The photo doesn't do it justice. It's a soft mouse brown, with a slight metallic sheen. The last one on the right is just a single dip to fast and too thin. glazy.org/recipes/862572 #pottery #ceramics #glaze #localisation

I couldn’t find much information about this, perhaps it’s benjarong, or related?

  17. The results - the plain glaze is nice. The added ilmenite needs to be better suspended, and the manganese version is a tad dark.

  29. I have a #RocketKiln that fires using scrap wood but I've never heard of a traditional wood fire kiln using scrap wood to fire. Typically, people either chop their own over the course of a year or buy cords of wood which can be very expensive. Josh DeWeese, a well-known ceramic artist, shows his wood fired kiln in this video that uses throwaway wood from local cabinet makers who are happy to give it to him rather than pay to dump it. ceramicartsnetwork.org/clayfli

  31. It’s been a while. I didn’t create anything in 2025, and I needed that silence. But I’m back in the studio now, hands in clay again, and it feels so good. Preparing for a group show this July and I can’t wait to share more.

Meet Benthic Garden. 🌊 I didn’t know what the glaze would do, it decided to become an ecosystem. Took her outside, zoomed in, and she was keeping secrets. A garden at the bottom of the sea. Debut this July.

How do we stage broken #ceramics for photographic #reconstruction?
With painter’s tape, we hold the #sherds together just long enough to take a photo. 📸 Residue is then cleaned off with ethanol—so the pottery isn't glued.
This pot was found during an #excavation in Lower #Austria! Thrown on a potter's wheel, its characteristics suggest it's from the late 13th to early 15th century!
