  2. Keeping your tube of Super Glue upright certainly stops it going off prematurely, no question. Eventually though, the nozzle cap sticks on, you twist hard, glue goes all over the place, and you sstarrt ttoo stiiickto everythhhhhhhh

  7. Yayyyyy! I won the #Hackaday podcast T-shirt this week for guessing the sound :) Love that competition.

  8. Interesting $10 spectrometer chip that'd make a real nice tricorder addition to give chemical analysis. Probably be a while before its on #Hackaday but.

  9. I has an excite. This dry-looking paper:

    arxiv.org/html/2605.27250v1

describes a mechanosynthesis experiment where individual carbon atoms were combined into specific straight and branched molecular carbon chains with an STM. This is not just pushing atoms around a substrate. This is atomically precise fabrication of bonded molecules.

In short, the very basis of nanofabrication popularly referred to as "The Diamond Age." I've been waiting a while for this.

  11. I am returning a very high end fitness product. The hardware was defective or proprietary software was so bad or intentionally hostile. Did they use AI to design this thing? The lack of printed instructions to troubleshoot how to power it up and if it was supposed to lose all its memory after it died after a few minutes. I lost a lot of time with this. Did they test it before selling it? Not able to use it once.

I'm sure someone already published a quality DIY project on #hackaday and this is why I love open source open hardware.

  13. Hackaday Europe in Lecco, Italy was a blast!

My first ever Hackaday event, and probably not my last 😉

I met lots of people, both old friends and new, as well as some I already knew online but hadn't met in real life yet.
I also gave a lightning talk about what I'm currently up to with my Tiny FABulous FPGAs.

Now, with lots of nice goodies and a cool badge, I'm back home again.

  14. I found a pal that lent me a #solderingiron, so I could solder my #badge addon. Then I discovered he needed an #led to complete his one and I had some, so we colud #solder his as well :)
    Nice!

  15. This week end I'll be at #hackadayeurope . What should I pack? My laptop, of course, and then? Multimeter, breadboards, a couple of MCU? Should I bring the soldering iron? Any project to show?
I'm traveling by motorcycle, so I can bring more than on a plane, but not a lot...
