Playing with GREENS today! Painting my morning iced latte. Which is now melted and sad because I spent so much time painting it, lol.
I’m almost bummed at how much I love the A. Gallo colors (that small palette on the left) because that company is so freaking expensive (handmade in Italy). But, oh, they are so nice to work with. And they smell wonderful, which means every time I open the tin and get a whiff I feel this joyful SQUEE I’M A GONNA PAINT NOW.
Sigh. ☺️

We're going on a little family holiday soon and Jupes wanted a new journal to write/art in for the trip. I made them this last night, they picked the colors. Then I made myself one. Then I drew Jupiter's book inside my book. Jupes said this is journal-ception.
French stitch is still my favorite by far. Coptic is basically dead to me, lol.

Last night's journaling was a youtube video at 12:07 am (just _try_ to pull me away from my desk when I start painting, I dare ya) from a guy talking about chronic illness, and urging one to remember that what you focus on all day begins to become your life. I really liked this. I've been experiencing some much better days lately, and there's been this wild crack into my world where light comes in, where I'm aware that I have space to think about ENTIRE OTHER THINGS than the pain I'm in. I'm currently filling this time with painting and reading (still working on the 1920's Bombay mystery, I go slow so it won't end).
While the guy talked, I painted him. All wobble and toss, but who cares, yo? I'm still committed to All Art Is Good Art. I don't mean every work is technically skilled. I mean, if it made you feel good to make it, then it's GOOD ART. I really liked this guy's face. All grey grizzly beard and thoughtful lines around his eyes.
