frankly I am not at all surprised. When github.com got bought, I felt this wasn't a place to stay and looked around where to go in the longer run. gitlab.com wasn't a safe bet already back then - the smell of #enterprise/ #corporate & #VC #money was strong.

Good to see some push-back on the completely unhinged plan to deploy 'sunlight on demand' reflective satellites (which would allow for companies to flood 5-6 square km of land at night with sunlight), and also Musk's plan to launch 1M AI workload satellites.

Yes, its so important to not have #DNSLookups tied to your #IPAddress.We spent some time a year or so ago on fedi informing of a bug found in the #ArchlinuxWiki, where their #transparentProxy instructions were flawed. We never got a response from any contributors to that wiki at the time, and to our knowledge the instructions were never fixed.
We can hunt down our post if you're interested.

@JulianOliver Personally, I hate CCP. CCP is one of the closest bullies to Malaysia. CCP denies the international law regarding Malaysia's sovereignty over their EEZ, thus CCP has sent many waves of military as reported in the news. About the SoundCloud self-hosted alternatives, I think FunkWhale and Navidrome are good options. FunkWhale is capable of ActivityPub federation, and Navidrome has the easiest UI.

Why the obsession with #Signal, Julian?
That's quite a list there, and each item represents a frustration with signal messenger over the years, and for me, ultimately all but abandoning it.As a friend started a response to Moxie at his #36C3 talk; "You said so many things I disagree with, it's tough to pick a question"...
Abandoning all hope for signal, I have for a time now, been trying to keep some hope alive for #SimpleX Chat. The protocol idea is excellent. The current implementation not so much, and I am not sure yet what to make of the direction in which it would seem that the developer wants to push it. There may be political motivations there, other than simply creating a messaging system.
That said, Simplex seems to have got a lot of stuff right, (ticks all the boxes on your list) whereas everything else, very much including signal, so far, has got wrong.
BTW, I've been at this game now FAR too long to suggest trying to move all your contacts on to yet another system, (you also, I imagine) so that's not the point here at all. Interested what you might think of Simplex all the same.

It won't work because scrapers don't care about your CSS. The text is still plaintext in the HTML. The gibberish doesn't poison anything, models already train on billions of tokens of garbage and route around it. And if your adversarial content is indistinguishable from the thing you're fighting, you're just contributing to the slop pile for free.
