  8. I love my #Keychron K6 retro style mechanical #keyboard and my #Kensington Expert Mouse (which is a #trackball). In fact I love it so much I've got two of each and have a set for the home office and a set when I'm at clients.

Given these shorter contracts lately, I'm looking for something a little less bulky to drag around, so I'm testing out the #logitech MX Keys Mini chiclet keyboard and the Kensington #Orbit wireless trackball.

    Opinions later! 😀

  13. #ArsTechnica says "The suborbital space tourism industry is on life support".

Well, duh. Some ridiculously high price for 7 minutes of microgravity (or whatever) is bullshit. You don't even reach the Kármán line (100 km)! They redefined some other threshold at 80 km just so you could say you went to space. Hint: if you have to redefine a common, long-agreed term, you're not adhering to the letter or the spirit of the law/guideline.

    It's orbit or GTFO.

  18. The closest #Apollo mission to #Artemis2 was #Apollo13. In #Apollo8, the crew went into #orbit around the #Moon (and did ten orbits) whereas the current mission will be a #Swingby as the craft is on a free-return trajectory so there’s no need for a #TransEarthInjection burn or #TEI. Of course Apollo 13 only did that because of the accident. The current crew will be much higher above the lunar surface than former missions.

The "artificial origin" dismissal has an explicit escape hatch. They address it unprompted, which tells you the data pattern is suggestive enough that they felt compelled to get ahead of it.

The alien dismissal is categorical: heliocentric orbits, natural compositions, no anomalous trajectories. But the artificial-origin answer pivots to: "not every fireball in the dataset has recovered meteorites" and "we simply lack sufficient data to make definitive statements about every single one." That's not a dismissal.

That's a carefully worded "we can't confirm it's all natural because we can't characterise everything."

Given the recent peer-reviewed paper by the Swedish #Astrophysics Doctor Beatrize Villarroel who found 10,000+ tech signatures in orbit pre 1957 (recently confirmed by an independent study of different plates).
Its entirely possible that there is a bit of a traffic jam in earths #orbit

Out there Thesis: Some of these #fireballs are actually landers as the 'Meteor flare' observed matches breaking pattern of a re-entry vehicle as much as breakup flare. The distinquishing feature being further radar trajectory data, and given the secrecy of telemetry of unusual phenomena, even if this data exists, we are very unlikely to examie it.

  20. Multiple #fireballs falling on earth right now are very likely the "debris field" of #3iAtlas

Earth is currently passing through the area of the plane of ecliptic that 3iAtlas passed through.

#NASA of course is supporting all the other 50 #anomalies about that "#comet" by outright lying that "we usually get this many meteors around this time" - the fireballs are not part of any #meteorshower this is #Anomalous

  25. RE: mastodon.social/@sundogplanets

What happens to all the man-made #satellites in #Earth's #orbit, of which approximately 15,000 are active, while the #lifespan of a satellite is usually only a few years? L. Revell et al. (2026) express concern in their #Conversation #article that the #throwawaymentality is causing so many decommissioned satellites to finally land in the #outeratmosphere that their #fragments and burnt #dust are #exacerbating #climatechange and #ozonedepletion.

#Satellites in #Earth #orbit play a major role in everyday life on Earth and make the global #connectivity via our media possible in the first place. However, the increasing number of satellites in #lowEarthorbit (#LEO) can also #brighten the #nightsky in places and interfere with #astronomical #observations. Degen et al. (2026) recommend #retroreflective #coatings on satellites to #redirect #sunlight in order to reduce brightness.
