Oi!
Have any of y'all watched The Wiz recently? (Movie version)
It's been decades since I last watched it start to finish.
It still holds up.
It's really interesting watching it with a shit ton of writing and art experience acquired since.

Next to watch on our #Ozploitation films list is Mad Dog Morgan (1976) starring, incredulously Dennis Hopper and of whom the director said "Rode off in costume, poured a bottle of O.P. rum into the real Morgan's grave in front of my mother... , drank one himself, got arrested and deported the next day, with a blood-alcohol reading that said he should have been clinically dead, according to the judge studying his alcohol tests." #MastoMovies #cinema #Movies #Australia

Just on my way home from seeing The Life Of Chuck.
Based on a Stephen King story, adapted & directed by Mike Flanagan, about what's important in life.
Great cast, lots (just the right amount) of trademark Flanagan monologues, and some lovely dreamlike scenes.Thoroughly enjoyed it.
I read some reviews calling it a bit hokey, but I think they were written by miserable bollixes.

🚨 TRAILER 2 ALERT
The Long Walk's second trailer has arrived—grim, intense, and full of King-ian dread.
New character posters + new film stills are out now too.

#JamesGunn fin qui… GRAZIE ❤️

Hemos ido a ver Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

I'm rewatching #TheTrumanShow and how incredibly ahead of its time was this film?

"Norsemen" is so good. Hard to find this sort of comedy these days. #mastomovies #netflix

Truly looking forward to this one. As a youngster, I was deeply impressed by #ShirleyChisholm - it could be said that she was instrumental in getting me interested in politics. #netflix #mastomovies #biopic #cinemastodon

#AliceDarling is a small, quiet, wise film about an abusive relationship - carried by #AnnaKendrick, who has rarely been cast as well as here. The film subtly shows how abuse easily takes place without physical violence and how a person is at risk of breaking. It is also a film about women's friendship and the support it can provide when everything else collapses. Watch this and take a closer look if u suspect that someone is not doing well in their relationship.

#Saltburn is a visually beautiful, breathtaking film. And yes, it relies a view times on shock value and revulsion - something that generally rarely upsets me. Here it results in some absolutely gorgeous, iconic scenes. What annoys me, however, is when an exciting film runs out of steam at the end and everything seems rushed and the final events seem ill-conceived. A more opulent "The Talented Mr. Ripley", albeit less clever and precise.

That style of comedy where you repeat the joke again and again until it becomes unfunny and then keep going much further until it becomes funny again? I have just realised that I view the filmography of Wes Anderson in a similar way. And Asteroid City was just a delight, and occasionally very funny.

The thirty first, and final, recommendation for the month is one that many will dislike. It’s Brightburn, a simple and entertainingly gruesome tale that gives us a version of the Superman origin tale if he had also been a bad seed.
