#Noirvember #filmnoir Act of Violence (1948) belongs to the crazy WW2 vet noir sub-genre. Lots of angst, moral ambiguity and self-pity. An emotional roller-coaster ride and it’s a full-blooded excursion into the noir depths.

The first half of Bob Rafelson's 1981 The Postman Always Rings Twice promises to be the best-ever adaptation of Cain's novel, with the right of mix of sleaziness, sweatiness and desperation. The second half is a trainwreck.
