Im Rahmen der Horrorfilmnacht haben wir auch „The Long Walk – Todesmarsch" angeschaut, die Verfilmung eines der Lieblingsbücher der Gemahlin von Stephen King. Gegen die Änderungen der Handlung im Vergleich zur Romanvorlage gab es keine Einsprüche.

Aber irgendwie wirkte der Film handwerklich nicht so ganz auf der Höhe - das für das Überleben der Dargestellten ja nicht ganz nebensächliche Lauftempo wies unserem Eindruck nach zwischen den Szenen dermaßen Schwankungen auf, dass wir es unter mehrfachem Anschlussfehler verbuchen würden. Und: Für maximal 16 Jahre alt gingen die Teilnehmer sicherlich nicht mehr durch - warum hatten die angesichts der auch zeitlichen Länge des Marsches trotzdem durchgehend alle offensichtlich keinerlei Bartwuchs?

Vale, ya he visto La larga marcha, película basada en el libro homónimo de Stephen King (escrito bajo el seudónimo de Richard Bachman, por si lo buscáis), y tengo sentimientos encontrados.

Por un lado, la película es buena, aunque no es para todos los públicos. Es una película durilla, en varios aspectos. Como digo, es una buena peli... si no has leído el libro. Porque si lo has leído vas a a ver que se han hecho cambios; no cambios menores, no, cambios importantes. Vas a echar en falta personajes chulos, que a mí me hubiese gustado ver en la película, y vas a ver que la elección del reparto ha sido cuestionable (te miro a ti, Stebbins). Pero con todo y con eso no está mal.

Eso sí, el libro... Oh, el libro. Tenéis que leerlo (aviso que también es duro, no va a ser un camino de rosas). Es una de las grandes joyas de Stephen King, y quizá una de las que menos se conocen. Pero es una historia única. El cómo se puede construir un relato tan increíble alrededor de un grupo de chavales caminando sin fin es algo que solo está al alcance de unos pocos. Vale que con King se me ven los colores, no me escondo, pero de verdad pienso que las personas que disfruten con este tipo de literatura deberían darle una oportunidad a este libro.

Calidad/tiempo: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Brutal historia de (otra vez) Stephen King llevada a la pantalla, pero de forma más simplificada y tranquila que en el libro, aunque no por ello más desoladora en el mensaje.
Me ha resultado muy interesante el ejercicio visual de una película enteramente en carretera, a paso lento. Está bien dirigida, se ve bien y, a pesar de ser una historia lineal de gente que anda, está bien llevada y no se hace larga.
Para quien no conozca el libro, es una alegoría de los reclutamientos de jóvenes estadounidenses para luchar en Vietnam, así que es bastante cruda.
