Age Verification is Digital ID
Must-Watch Video from NO2ID

#ageVerification #digitalId #no2id -
Remember folks, the 'social media ban for under-16s' is actually about getting every single person of every age to supply verifiable details to the government and the big media companies.
It isn't about the kids.
It is about advertising and personally identifiable information.

@PoliceStateUK I don't recall there being any time limit to the commitment when I signed up to #No2ID last time round this Labour police state loop.

Phil Booth has done a video explaining the Digital ID consultation and how the scheme relates to Gov.uk One Login. Well worth a watch and sharing with friends and family https://youtu.be/mC16RbBzd2Y?si=pCn6E2-m33z-US4E #DigtialID #privacy #no2id

Apparently there's a zoom call every week about the subject.
I will try and join the next one - the details for this one were sent to me at short notice!Interestingly one of the organisers said that the AI system that "#Palantir Foundry" that the NHS will be using is based on Apache Spark (https://spark.apache.org/), so in theory non Palantir-based systems could be "plugged in" and used instead in future.
They also mentioned that the NHS does develop their own programs, so it is entirely possible to swap Palantir for other home-grown systems.
An example given was #OpenSAFELY, which was used for Covid-19 research (https://www.england.nhs.uk/2023/11/nhs-expands-use-of-secure-covid-19-research-platform-to-help-find-new-treatments-for-major-killer-conditions/)It was an interesting meeting, but sadly an hour was not enough to discuss everything that people wanted.
One of the people present are also part of the #No2ID group, and some of the concerns overlap in both groups.

I beg you, blow #Palantir sky high somehow. Our idiot #government is in bed with them and wants to deploy digital #ID ... not to benefit the majority, and definitely not in our name.
-
@RussCheshire @futurebird Yes I know.
Last time around lots of people signed up to #No2ID. I don't remember there being a time limit to that commitment, so as far as I know I'm still bound by it.

"There are basic vulnerabilities in the system. It would not take any creative thinking for a state actor or organised crime to target the vulnerabilities in #DigitalID."
-
"The Lib Dem peer said he had been told by an official that #OneLogin would not pass the required security tests until March 2026. The whistleblower also highlighted an incident from March this year, when a so-called "red team" tasked with simulating a real life cyber attack was reportedly able to gain privileged access to One Login systems."

Anyone got a contact at No2ID? In light of recent news I went to https://www.no2id.net/, only to see the homepage has been replaced with links to dodgy casinos. Have emailed but no reply.
@openrightsgroup maybe?

@thecommongreen Including all of us who signed up to #No2ID back in the day.

I've never been particularly pleased with my driving license having my home address printed on it.
For years I had to present photo ID to the supermarkets even into my late 30s to buy alcohol or other "grown up" things. Oddly never with my partner there 🤔
Usually it was either older women, or Men on the checkout. With exclamations about how young I look.
Now imagine that anywhere where some petty functionary wants to demand it for power, or to stalk you later.

Starmer finally succeeds in uniting the UK.
Truly he is a political genius.
-
This legislation seems relevant
https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2010/40/contents
The Identity Documents Act 2010 repealed the Identity Cards Act 2006.
When Blunkett and Blair touted the idea of ID cards quarter of a century ago, public opinion was roughly 80:20 in favour. By the time the Identity Cards Act was repealed, public opinion was 80:20 against.
And Starmer is starting without the goodwill or charisma that his predecessor enjoyed.

@ely_peddler When I signed up to #no2id I don't recall there being any time limit to my commitment.

@PabloMartini Last time Labour tried to introduce a similar totalitarian control system some of us signed up to #No2ID. I don't recall this commitment having any time limit.
