Digitaler Wochenrückblick 2. August 2026
Über Bedeutung lässt sich streiten, was ist das, smart? So viel wie „intelligent, pfiffig, gewandt, elegant oder schick“ – was kann uns also besseres passieren, wenn unser geliebter Fernseher zum „Smart-TV“ wird und uns eigenständig das passende Programm vorschlägt, das Ding kennt uns nach kurzer Zeit und weiß, was wir brauchen – nicht wollen.
Viel besser aber noch, warum nur Dritten zu Diensten sein? Der Datensalat, der im Hintergrund anfällt, lässt weitere Möglichkeiten zu, um wirklich personalisierte Werbung selbst einzuspielen. Denn jedes von diesen „Smart-TV“-Eimern an der Wand bringt ein eigenes Betriebssystem mit, gegen das wir uns nicht wehren können.
Um so smart zu sein, wie sie sind, brauchen sie was? Natürlich, einen ununterbrochenen Kontakt zum Internet, die Frage nach dem WLAN steht ganz oben, nachdem das Ding das erste Mal eingeschaltet wird. Und – sobald verbunden – schickt zum Beispiel Samsung rund 300 MB Daten nach Hause (andere sind nicht besser). Das geschieht selbst dann, wenn ich später in der Datenschutzerklärung alles abwähle, was deren Begehr ist.
Im Grunde soll ein Fernseher nur ein Bild zeigen, früher über den Äther, Kabel kam hinzu, später Satellit. Ganz ohne smart zu sein und völlig ohne Internet konnte ich sehen, was ich wollte. Und: Das ging nur mich etwas an. Die Internetfähigkeit erfordert ein eigenes Betriebssystem, damit auch Netflix und der ganze andere Plunder gleich auf der Fernbedienung erreicht werden kann.
Alles, was ich von nun an auf dem „Smart-TV“ mache, steht dem Hersteller zur Verfügung, gerne mit einem eigenen Account, bei LG, Samsung etc., um nicht nur die Standortdaten greifbar zu haben, sondern auch Name, Geschlecht, Familienmitglieder, Alter – die geldwerten Vorlieben brauchen sie nicht, die bekommen sie selbst heraus. Ein schlagendes Argument für den Zirkus: Firmware-Updates werden automatisch eingespielt, das ist wichtig, denn auch so ein „Smart-TV“ kann angegriffen werden oder selbst zum Teil eines Bot-Netzes umfunktioniert.
Das ist wirklich gefährlich, da bleibt nur eine einzige Möglichkeit: Das schwarze Rechteck an der Wand niemals nie mit dem Internet verbinden, dann sind auch keine Firmware-Updates notwendig. Bleibt die Frage, was mache ich mit einer solchen leeren Hülle? Gut, ich könnte ein Buch lesen – oder aber ich schließe einen Zuspieler meiner Wahl an, derer gibt es viele, wer nicht suchen will, nimmt sich einen Apple-TV (dem können die schlimmsten Dinge abgewöhnt werden), alles andere führt jetzt zu weit.
Aber die Hersteller von „Smart-TVs“ bieten diese schwarzen Rechtecke nicht nur fürs Wohnzimmer an, sondern auch für ganz gewöhnliche PCs. Der Nachteil: da können sie kaum ein eigenes Betriebssystem für ein besseres Nutzererlebnis mitverkaufen. Dennoch gibt es Möglichkeiten einen „Smart-Monitor“ unbemerkt aufzudrängen. Wir werden es lieben – lernen.
Den Grundstein hat Microsoft gelegt. Die erlauben Herstellern von Peripheriegeräten anhand einer ID die passenden Treiber auf meinem PC zu installieren. Ganz praktisch, wenn der neue Drucker gleich mitmacht. Dazu sind allerdings tiefe Eingriffe in das Betriebssystem notwendig. Das erledigt eine App des Herstellers im Hintergrund, auf die ich als Nutzer keinerlei Einfluss habe. Was Microsoft dazu beschreibt, löst auch bei unbedarften Laien eine leichte Übelkeit aus.
Da heißt es unter anderem: „Die App hat Lese- und Schreibzugriff auf alle Dateien (einschließlich Dokumente, Bilder und Musik) und Registrierungseinstellungen und kann dadurch Änderungen an Ihrem Computer und Ihren Einstellungen vornehmen“ und weiter „…ohne dass Sie benachrichtigt werden. Es hat auch Zugriff auf Ihren Standort und kann Plattformfeatures wie Standortverlauf, App-Diagnose und mehr verwenden, die den meisten Store-Apps verweigert werden. Sie können die meisten Berechtigungen für diese App unter Einstellungen/Datenschutz nicht steuern.“
Keine weiteren Fragen, euer Ehren…
Nochmal zur Erleuchtung: das ist für jeden Hersteller möglich, ohne dass ich darauf Einfluss nehmen kann. Nein, das findet sich nicht in der Flut von Convenience-Abfragen, weder bei Microsoft noch beim Anschluss eines neuen Gerätes, das wird gemacht, im Hintergrund.
Mit einer solchen Funktion kann gearbeitet werden und auf diesem Weg testet LG die Vorzüge eines „Smart-Monitor“, in Nordamerika spielen sie Werbung für McAfee ein. Alle weiteren Daten können sie im Hintergrund beständig abfragen, Grenzen sind nicht bekannt – warum auch, wir können uns sowieso nicht wehren.
Es gibt zwar die Möglichkeit in den Niederungen der Einstellmöglichkeiten von Windows den automatischen Download abzuwürgen, was aber einem geschmeidigen Pyrrhussieg gleichkommt, denn damit blockiere ich auch gewünschte Installationen. Viel gemeiner jedoch, nach Updates von Microsoft wird gerne alles wieder auf Default-Einstellungen zurückgesetzt – und schon funkt die Mühle nicht nur nach Redmond, sondern auch nach LG, Samsung, Brother, Epson – wer auch immer Daten von uns will.
Wir regen uns über Chatkontrolle auf? Warum? Du hast doch eh nix zu verstecken, also gar nichts mehr! So ziehet hin und genießet, was euch geboten, nehmet dankbar den Segen, derer die euch erleuchten, fraget nicht, gebet alles – denn sie wissen, was sie tun – zu ihrem Schutz.
Welche Möglichkeiten bleiben, dem zu entgehen? Keine, so unbeweglich wie wir sind. Oder hast Du, die oder der da vor dem Monitor erschrocken thront, eine Idee? Raus damit! Ich warte…

Mimo niżej pozycjonowanej serii producent nie zrezygnował z podświetlenia Quantum Mini LED ani matrycy z kropkami kwantowymi. Ekran oferuje ten sam certyfikat odwzorowania barw PANTONE oraz automatyczny tryb dostosowywania obrazu do warunków w pokoju.

So a couple of questions: Is your experience the same? Are there any #Smart TVs that you reckon will still be as smart as they first were after, say, 10 years?
A #RaspberryPi or similar could typically work well for many people and a Bluetooth keyboard (Which makes typing when searching easier) can often be a better choice, but I guess doesn't have the typical IR remote that everyone expects to use.
Would your non-techie family members copy with such a setup?
