I have decided to stop hosting #Gotosocial.

This, in NO WAY means I'm leaving Mastodon. I am frankly, tired of having two accounts and having to dedicate resources to the task.

So, I seek, #mastodon people, a #mastodoninstance that is lenient on photo uploads. 6 is fine. 6 is a good limit for me. 6 is a "run".

Don't worry!! I have a plan for my backlog. I'm putting up a #Hugo site!

Less resources and better searchability since I'll be on a big instance. No more subscribing to people on two different accounts...

Why is that when I search for an account on an instance, it shows up but when I search for the same account on another instance, it doesn't show up? This has happened to me far too many times at this point. And I used to think it only happens on #infosec.exchange (this was the only instance I have ever used till today's afternoon). But I checked out other instances today and it happens on others too including #sakurajimamoe 🥲 And this doesn't only happen with accounts but also with posts. On some instances, for some accounts, it doesn't show any activity or posts of the account at all even while the profile shows when searched. And sometimes, it shows some posts and doesn't show some. Not sure what's happening but somehow it seems like the gamedev.place instance is not fully syncing with loops.video just yet.

Might take a while until the instances communicate correctly with each other. I will check this again at the end of the week.

The one thing I wish I could figure out while running my own instance is how to populate the "Explore" feature with more stuff. Being on the main mastodon.social node gave me a lot more to look at. Any pointers out there? #mastodonmigration #fediverse #mastodoninstance #mastodon

- We are up to 16 active users.
- The top active servers for our part of the fediverse are universeodon.com and mastodon.social.
- We are using a relay again (https://relay.infosec.exchange) and it seems to be working out well.
- After getting listed on https://joinmastodon.org/servers, we started seeing some people sign up for Toot Works from the mobile app.
- We are still using @mastohost's Star plan.
