Why is that when I search for an account on an instance, it shows up but when I search for the same account on another instance, it doesn't show up? This has happened to me far too many times at this point. And I used to think it only happens on #infosec.exchange (this was the only instance I have ever used till today's afternoon). But I checked out other instances today and it happens on others too including #sakurajimamoe 🥲 And this doesn't only happen with accounts but also with posts. On some instances, for some accounts, it doesn't show any activity or posts of the account at all even while the profile shows when searched. And sometimes, it shows some posts and doesn't show some. Can anyone enlighten me about this 🙏🙏

I like the way you're thinking. I think users here have a much higher willingness to proactively guard their privacy but conversely a much higher willingness to providing help when the goals are transparent and obviously ethical.

Can anyone point me to a post on here over the last week or so about an incident where an #LgbtFriendly #MastodonInstance was getting targeted late at night with #FalseAbuse reports that led to it getting #Defederated? Trying to link to/quote it, and the lack of search is thwarting me. I need to learn to favorite or boost anything I want to find again.
