Here's a fun one for you. The City of Parramatta is looking to name a new central park in an urban renewal precinct. What do you think they should call it?

The names they've come up with so far as Whistling Kite Park, Factory Green, and Wilsonia Park.

But Fedi brains trust, I think we can do better than that!

"Covering approximately 30 hectares, the new Melrose Park Precinct is located north of the Parramatta River and south of Victoria Road. The precinct is currently undergoing a major transformation from an industrial area into a vibrant mixed-use neighbourhood. When complete, it will include around 6,000 homes, a new town centre, community facilities, and approximately five hectares of public open space and parkland.

"As development progresses, Council has been working with developers and the community to name new streets and open spaces throughout the precinct. Many of these names have already been formally adopted through the official naming process, with valuable input from the local community.

"This consultation seeks feedback on the name of a new park located in the heart of the precinct. Three carefully researched name options have been shortlisted for community consideration, reflecting themes of local history, heritage, and biodiversity. Looking for tips on quick and easy cooking/meal prepping for someone who:
is disabled and sometimes very low energy
doesn't like to cook and will often choose to not eat rather than cook if they aren't in the mood for it/don't have the energy and ready food isn't available
can't stand at a stove/counter/sink/etc. for extended periods
is pescatarian
is allergic to lettuce, so standard salads are out

Alright folks it's that time again - my phone is starting to glitch out a bit and I've already replaced the battery and screen to try to stretch it, but I think it's time for a new phone. I have a Pixel 6a. I've had Pixels since the Pixel 1 and have always been an #Android user since my first smartphone. I have been pretty happy with the Pixels but I am getting kinda sick of Google's BS.

What I want in a new phone:
- Unlocked, full-price phone - manufacturer-refurbished maybe preferable
- Stock Android OS, or very close w/ google play store & services
- Extremely reliable
- Minimum 128 GB storage, 6GB RAM. a bit more would be better
- Runs full set of Google services including Google Pay checkout in web

Nice-to-haves:
- Back or side fingerprint reader - the under-screen one in the Pixel 6a sucks balls
- OS w/ future-proof support for unknown APK sources like F-Droid

I’m curious about this: the article shows images of melted aperture leaves, burned sensors etc. I’m assuming the same damage would occur if you pointed a camera at the sun for extended periods even not during an eclipse? It’s not like there’s more energy being delivered during an eclipse event, right?
