  1. Tonight (5/13/2026 at 6pm EDT) we're going to play around in #Copernicus. We'll try to make some Slap Comp setups, and maybe mess around with some of the simulation stuff as well. Hope to see you there!

  6. Long-shot, but: Does anyone (possibly at Apple) know if there is an internal setting to turn off shadows on system windows? (macOS Sequoia)

Use case: I am green-screening my camera feed onto the screen (so the screen has a green background) and using that to overlay windows on my camera feed while streaming/recording. The shadows are picking up the green and making the green screen picture quality not as good as it could be as I have to constrain the parameters more than I would otherwise have to.

  11. RE: mograph.social/@thevfxfeed/116

To be honest, a machine-learning model for Nuke where the training data is clearly sourced and free of legal baggage would be a really good thing. There are so many image segmentation and inpainting models that would be really useful to compositing artists. But most are "non-commercial use only" or have unclear training data. The Foundry should put some of their money into training such models from scratch so that they can be used by studios.

This is going to be a document that hopefully will explain 2D compositing to you, such that you will have an intuition for how it is done.
