Tonight (5/13/2026 at 6pm EDT) we're going to play around in #Copernicus. We'll try to make some Slap Comp setups, and maybe mess around with some of the simulation stuff as well. Hope to see you there!

Mocap fusion seems to be pretty easy to work with, exports a bvh file, and retargets to my vr avatar easily. I wonder if it would be less floaty if I had a belly tracker.
It also records audio alongside the mocap so I used it to drive the mouth's KK shape.
#Houdini does have the Voice Sync chop to detect phonemes, gotta try that another time.

I've turned to #houdini to see if I can make sense of things. The upper set of numbers is the bytes represented in decimal, while hex values are in the group below.
At least the first and last bytes are correct (F0 start, F7 end).
The second number appears to be the Waldorf Midi ID number, so likely on the right track.
EDIT: I'm trying to edit a waldorf blofeld sysex file in order to rename the author field. Its blank right now.
ZOMG Found this: https://www.deepsonic.ch/deep/docs_manuals/waldorf_blofeld_sysex_documentation_v.1.04.txt

Weekend reading thoughts. Human brains, and the ease of deception when in a area outside our expertise. How many scientists are as easily fooled? As many as are not experts in trickery (even then..)
How many today buy into #AI magical thinking? As many who are not experts in coding AIs (even then..)
Same tricks, fake outs, waste of money, don't fall for it peeps, it's an AILlusion.
Props to @emilymbender for being a #houdini of #aitools btw 😄

Tonight (4/15/2026) I'm going to try to build something like these porcelain pieces by Linda Lopez: https://www.thisiscolossal.com/2023/01/linda-lopez-ceramic-dust-furries/. We'll try to take a look at both a procedural and simulated method.

Doing a project where I need to merge a flip beach sim and an ocean spectrum. I had a gnarly seam between the two. Turns out, it was a name attribute causing issues. #houdini

Tonight (4-1-2026 at 6pm EDT), in honor of the hopeful launch of Artemis II, I'm going to try to make some pyro rocket exhaust. Also, we'll do a little watch along of the launch. It's not every day that humans start a trip around the moon!
