Character names are chosen from the first word of displaynames that follow the account. Only 2 or more alphabetical characters are used.

Classes and races are random, with each class + race combination being unique where possible.

Some situations may call for you to make a decision whether to attack first or wait to investigate. If you attack first against an enemy, they will be surprised and skip their first combat turn. If you misplace your trust, you risk losing your first combat turn instead.

Mistakenly attacking a non-enemy will often lead to less than desirable outcomes as well.

If the character is in a tough encounter, they may try to run.

Running performs the greater of an Acrobatics (Dex) or Athletics (Str) check and accounts for differences in speed. The character may flee, flee but take damage, attempt to flee but be forced to fight, or not flee at all.

Keep an eye on post replies, other users may have suggestions for voting or want to talk strategy.

Once a spell is cast, a charge of its corresponding spell slot is used. You regain all uses of all spell slots on a long rest. Warlocks also regenerate all used slots on a short rest, and Wizards can regenerate some of their slots on a short rest once per day (long rest).

Some spell casters have special level 0 Cantrip spells that can be used without needing any slots.

Weapon damage is usually displayed like "1d4+6, +8", where "1d4+6" is the damage roll and "+8" is the attack roll "to hit" bonus.

If you think the character deserves a retirement, you may vote for the "Retire" option when in town. Retiring will end the current campaign and start a new one. Retiring requires a majority vote as opposed to the usual plurality.

Mixed attacks are attacks with 2 weapons where one is melee and another is ranged. Only one attack may gain the ability modifier for damage, unless the modifier is negative. The attack that is not disadvantaged gains the modifier.

If the character has no melee weapons but has a shield, they can make Shield Smash and Shield throw attacks.
