CW: Stardew Valley
I put myself up to a sort of 'speedrun' challenge in Stardew Valley... I got the Juicy Bugs community request where I had to kill and deliver 100 bug meat to Willy, but I got distracted by other things such as the Ice Festival.
So, on the last day I still had 87 bug meat to collect and deliver... (Well, technically less to collect, but I'd turned some of the bug meat into bait already; oops...)
Unfortunately my inventory was still quite full at the start of the day, so every restart started with me quickly sorting my items into the various chests. As well as grabbing my single cup of coffee (the 3 triple espressos I had won during the Ice Festival were still in my chest at Willy's...), a beach totem (to warp straight out of the mines to the beach to save delivery time), and the earlier collected 13 bug meat that were stashed away in a chest, and some food (that I ended up not needing). Don't forget to learn today's Queen of the Sauce recipe either.
Oh, and cancel out the cutscene of Emily at my doorstep offering me the use of her sewing machine.
Pet the cat on the way to the mine, as well as dig up a lost book and some powder melon seeds that were on my path.
Every... single... retry...
I probably reset the day over 25 times over the past couple of actual days 😅
One time I had gotten enough bug meat, but I wouldn't have enough time left to deliver it... That was a sour one!
But I finally did it! Last run I got lucky with 2 consecutive floors around midnight swarming with maggots! Quick warp to the beach, drop off the meat in Willy's bucket (thank Yoba that it went into a bucket outside his cabin, and I didn't need to find the old codger), and rush home to land in my bed at 01:50 😅
(Nearly saw myself run out of time as I got slowed down by a slime in my path poisoning me!)
A couple of runs I found the Monster Compendium in the cave which would help with the task, but sadly not on this final run. Did get a Farmer's Almanac though, so that wasn't too bad either.
Didn't have time to harvest and plant Powder Melons, but at least I can progress again. 😂 Nor did I get to give Harvey a birthday gift, but screw that guy anyway. 😅

Does anyone have any experience setting up #Stardew Valley for someone with sufficiently bad dyslexia they are basically functionally illiterate. I know it's possible and there's a complete modkit to the point it supports blind players but I was wondering if someone had a rather smaller set of mods just for dealing with text to speech ?
