The new national #detention standards, which #ICE posted to its website Monday, include some of #GeoGroup’s requested changes. The document says detainees are not employees & “are not entitled to wages or benefits under applicable #wage #laws or #labor #regulations.”
The revised rules no longer say detainees must be paid at least $1 per day, & no longer include several references to contractors having to comply with #state or local laws. -

The average monthly gross #wage in #Latvia amounted to EUR 1,831 in Q1/2026, which was up 4.2% on year, the Central Statistical Bureau reported. The average net wage rose by 4.5% to EUR 1,364. The gross median wage stood at EUR 1,457 (up 3.8%) and net median wage at EUR 1,128 (up 4.8%).

Today, #Iran ’s official full-time wage has been announced to set at just €120 a month.
For people of #Tehran, a basic unfurnished small home already costs at least €110 a month and one kilogram of meat is about €12.
This is not a living #wage. It is social violence.
And while #workers are being crushed by hunger, some still have the shamelessness to call their #protest “foreign #propaganda.”
