If, like me, you use #AFFiNE (and, if you don’t, but you like apps like #Notion and #Miro and you seek for open-source self-hosted alternatives, you probably should take a look):

I’ve pushed a PR that finally fixes the login issues on Linux (namely, the app’s inability to persist sessions).

You can build AFFiNE from my fork if you want need an immediate fix.

A quick workaround if instead you want to keep using the current stable version of the app, and you use the GNOME keyring to store credentials on your system:

echo "--password-store=gnome-libsecret" >> ~/.config/affine-flags.conf

What’s a good #note app? I’ve can Bing things, but wonder what’s actually useful.

• must be #selfhostable in #Kubernetes (I can make k8s descriptors out of Docker Compose if need be, but prefer a helm chart)
• I don’t mind paying, but I’m not paying a subscription for hosting stuff myself
• must be possible to make simple notes + task lists easily
• must be possible to bulk-upload data
• must be possible to attach images + PDFs
• images and PDFs must be searchable (using OCR; I’m scanning in dead-wood shit)
• must have folders for organizing a LOT of data (literally tens of thousands of notes with PDFs/images)
• data must be in my hosting, not on (all) devices, but should be searchable from devices
• something #Notion-y would be nice but is not a requirement
• I’d love to be able to import a (15 GB) Evernote export

#AnyType is actively k8s-hostile, #AFFiNE doesn’t index PDFs and seemingly does not allow custom bulk imports, #Evernote got hit with the enshittification-stick and not self-hostable, #Obsidian seems to be client-first. But that’s the sort of solution I’ve been looking at.

I just found #affine today, and I am very tempted to replace #logseq with it.

Main points:
- Sync seems pretty simple and you can self host
- collaboration features. You can easily share notes and canvases with your team and colleagues.

I love #notion for the ability to have great templates great visual style easy remote publishing easy integration

I like #obsidian since it's offline first super fast clean and simple

I get stuck with notion due to it being a heaping pile of garbage in terms of performance and I get stuck in obsidian since every basic thing seems to require tons of setup such as publishing pages (withought paying through selfhosting) templates of things is rough creating spreadsheet comparison type tables is tough

perso je fais ça avec #anytype avec des vues triées par date de réalisation, mais on doit pouvoir faire ce genre de choses aussi avec #appflowy ou #affine je suppose
