Americana meets the Aussie bush
Trying to get some bread in a cafe on Bellingen's main drag. Once the obstacle course of the packs of dogs on extendable leads are overcome it is time for waiting in a long queue on a Saturday. Many hipster families are there to have breakfast done for them.
One set was showcasing their three toddlers in a full 'American Western-inspired aesthetic', cowboy hats and boots. Mum had that Instagrammable ‘Mar-a-Lago face’.
Wide-brimmed hats are ideal to protect oneself from Australia's sun, but this was in the comfort zone of a cafe.
The "cowboy core" aesthetic facade harks back to the wide‑open‑spaces where cattle-herders (cowboys, stockmen/ringers) managed grazing livestock, for the pastoral industry, particularly in the Australian outback or American Western frontier.
Already in the 16th century, the Conquistadors and other Spanish settlers brought their cattle-raising traditions to Mexico and Florida.
The Western portrayed the cowboy as an enduring cultural figure representing freedom.
So why are these urban folks from the suburbs running around in 'costumes' looking like pastoralist workers from a mythical past? What 'sense of belonging' do they buy?
Maybe the fashionable habitus points to a vibe shift of the wannabe cowboys expressing preemptive subordination or imperial obsequiousness?

Hungary Warned About Brussels’ Three Regime Change Plots In Central Europe
These are being advanced through a combination of information warfare and support for anti-government (Brussels-organized) “NGOs” (BONGOs).
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto warned in a Facebook post last month after talks with his Slovak and Serbian counterparts that Brussels is plotting regime change against them. This comes after Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) reported that the EU and Ukraine are backing the Hungarian opposition ahead of next spring’s parliamentary elections. The larger context is that they’ve all defied EU pressure to cut ties with Russia and are considering the creation of a new regional integration platform.
From the EU’s hegemonic perspective, those three’s current governments do indeed pose “an increasingly serious obstacle to a ‘united Europe’” as SVR described Hungary as being vis-à-vis Brussels, with that country being the main one followed by Slovakia and then Serbia to a much lesser extent. Long-serving Prime Minister Viktor Orban is a populist-nationalist icon on the continent, while his Slovak counterpart Robert Fico only recently returned to office but immediately followed in Orban’s footsteps.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic is an altogether different story, however, since he presents himself as a populist-nationalist but in many ways behaves as a liberal-globalist. For instance, SVR recently accused his government of indirectly arming Ukraine, which followed its votes against Russia at the UNGA. He also claims that recurring protests against his rule are a Colour Revolution, which Russia has thus far agreed with, yet there’s also no denying that some bonafide populist-nationalists fiercely oppose him.
That’s because of his aforesaid anti-Russian moves, his concessions to the NATO-occupied Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija, and his obsequious attitude towards the EU. At the same time, he also hasn’t fully capitulated to all of the West’s demands either, ergo why some of its ruling liberal-globalists want to depose him. Therefore, while it’s dishonest to describe him as a populist-nationalist in the same vein as Orban or Fico, it’s still true that all three don’t fully tow the EU’s line on Russia.
Circling back to Szijjarto’s recent post after clarifying the situation with Vucic, the EU’s regime change plots against all three are being advanced through a combination of information warfare and support for anti-government (Brussels-organized) “NGOs” (BONGOs). The purpose is to turn voters against the ruling parties (or whichever presidential candidate they endorse like in Vucic’s case after he said that he won’t amend the constitution to run again) so that their leaders can later be “democratically” deposed.
Prior to the next elections as well as in the scenario that this plot fails, infowars and BONGO protests are weaponized to discredit these figures as the pretext for justifying more direct EU pressure against them and their countries. Regardless of whatever form this takes, the end goal of regime change remains the same. It’s simply unacceptable from the EU’s hegemonic perspective for them to oppose Brussels on such important issues as Russia even in non-member Serbia’s case since this undermines its authority.
Looking forward, all eyes will be on Hungary’s spring elections, which will be the first chance for the EU to “democratically depose” one of these three leaders unless Serbia holds early elections before then. In Serbia’s case, whoever Vucic endorses might take his pro-Western pivot to its conclusion, so it might not matter whether they or the opposition win. It’s more difficult to predict what’ll happen in Hungary’s case, however, but the ruling party’s loss would be a powerful blow to populist-nationalists in Europe.

Es wirkt bullig und für unser Gefühl ist es einfach zu groß... Aber... es ist ein E-Auto!
Wenn die deutsche Auto-Industrie damit gerettet werden könnte - bitte!
Leider werden diese Fahrzeuge im politisch problematischen Ungarn gebaut. Es entstehen also Arbeitsplätze jenseits unserer Grenzen.
Und nach wie vor fänden wir folgendes besser:
- einen besseren ÖPNV mit großer Reichweite und höherer Taktzahl
- DeutschlandTicket zu bezahlbaren Preisen (unter 50 €)

Por unanimidad, el TEPJF resolvió de manera definitiva que la presidencia le corresponde a la diputada Arias Contreras. Regalan juguetes a niños de madres en reclusión. “Limpian” calles de autos abandonados en Azcapotzalco.

Según nos cuentan, ni todo el poder que desplegaron los advenedizos del grupo encabezado por Víctor Hugo Lobo Román para apoderarse del PRD-Ciudad de México les alcanzó para quitar del camino a Nora Arias Contreras y a Isidro Corro, como presidenta y secretario general del partido, respectivamente.
Dos factores jugaron en contra de Lobo y compañía: pretender apoderarse del partido a sabiendas de la falta de aceptación de los militantes y, sobre todo, porque no les asistía la razón.
Ahora, no les queda más remedio que “tragar sapos”. Un trago amargo que no hubieran querido vivir, pero ni modo.
Todo eso es resultado de lo que determinó la Sala Superior del Tribunal Electoral del Poder Judicial de la Federación (TEPJF), como máxima autoridad jurisdiccional electoral del país el día 28 de mayo, en los siguientes términos:
-La Sala Superior reconoció los actos mediante los cuales se constituyeron los órganos del PRD-Ciudad de México (Toda su estructura).
-El 30 de enero de este año concluyó el plazo para la designación de los órganos del PRD-Cdmx, por lo que no era viable otorgar un nuevo plazo.
-La documentación entregada por Nora del Carmen Bárbara Arias Contreras no fue objeto de invalidez de las sentencias de la Sala Superior.
-En ninguna de las sentencias de la Sala Superior se vinculó a algo específico.
Por tanto, quedan firmes todos los nombramientos del PRD Ciudad de México como sigue: Nora Arias Contreras, presidente; Isidro Corro Ortiz, secretario general, y Fernando Cuéllar Reyes, representante ante el Instituto Electoral Ciudad de México.
Atrás quedó la disputa de Arias Contreras e Isidro Corro con los diputados federales de Morena, Ricardo Monreal y Pedro Haces Barba, y el tránsfuga Víctor Hugo Lobo Román, a quienes acusaban de querer apoderarse de ese organismo político.
Con ese fin, los señalados recurrieron a todo tipo de artilugios, infundios y poder. Pero nada de eso les alcanzó.
¿Entenderán que en democracia se gana o se pierde?
¿Tendrán el valor de reconocer que cuando se pierde en buena lid no hay nada que hacer?
El año pasado el PRD a nivel nacional perdió su registro al no alcanzar el 3% de votos en las últimas elecciones, Un partido histórico en el que militaron Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas y López Obrador.
El mal trabajo de “Los Chuchos”, principalmente Jesús Zambrano, terminó por llevar al despeñadero al partido del Sol Azteca.
Hoy, bajo la dirección de Nora Arias el destino del PRD-Cdmx es promisorio, digno de un mejor futuro para aquellos a quienes representa y que reclaman ser escuchados. Arias Contreras ha dejado constancia en diversas ocasiones de su vocación de servicio y, esta vez, no será la excepción.
Por algo, la que fuera jefa delegacional en la Gustavo A. Madero, fue reconocida por el PRD con la Medalla Belisario Domínguez en 2011 por su trayectoria profesional; en 2014, durante su gestión, recibió el Premio Tlatoani como la mejor jefa delegacional.
Ojalá y no les falle a quienes han creído y creen en ella.
REPARTEN JUGUETES EN SANTA MARTHA
Las frecuentes visitas de la diputada Rebeca Peralta León a los centros penitenciarios de la Ciudad de México, tienen un objetivo: obsequiar juguetes a los hijos menores de mujeres que se encuentran en reclusión para que disfruten momentos de esparcimiento y alegría.
Esta vez tocó al penal de Santa Martha Acatitla recibir la visita de la legisladora que llegó con algunos carritos eléctricos para los niños; en otras ocasiones ha entregado obsequios propios para las niñas; su propósito es que estas acciones se repitan lo más frecuentemente posible.
Durante sus recorridos por estos lugares, la legisladora del Partido Verde ha podido observar que los regalos son importantes porque los ayudan a una mejor convivencia, y contribuyen al desarrollo físico y emocional de los menores.
Dice la diputada por el Distrito 24 de Iztapalapa que es una satisfacción ver la cara de felicidad de esos pequeñines que sufren el infortunio de vivir entre muros junto a sus madres.
Para Peralta León, cualquier inversión que se haga para llevar a cabo esta tarea por muy loable sea, no es importante. Como tampoco lo es pretender un reconocimiento de las autoridades porque no lo hacemos por protagonismo sino por altruismo.
En sus redes sociales, la diputada agradeció al secretario de Seguridad Ciudadana (SSC) Pablo Vázquez, la oportunidad que le ha brindado para llevar a cabo recorridos por los reclusorios de la Ciudad para conocer las necesidades que enfrentan las personas internas.
Y su misión es esa: conocer y atender los problemas que enfrentan las mujeres en reclusión.

En colonias de la alcaldía Azcapotzalco se está llevando a cabo una campaña de retiro de autos abandonados. Hace unos días se retiraron 80 vehículos, según informó la alcaldesa Nancy Núñez Reséndiz.
La funcionaria explicó que esta tarea la realiza en coordinación con la Subsecretaría de Control de Tránsito de la Ciudad de México.
Nancy NuñezLa alcaldesa, del partido Morena, dijo que el retiro de vehículos de la vía pública ayudará a mejorar la imagen, la seguridad y la movilidad de la demarcación.
Según se informó, de los 80 automóviles, 44 fueron recuperados por sus dueños. Los demás fueron trasladados al corralón en espera de ser reclamados, incluso los dos que ingresaron con reporte de robo.
Los autos retirados se encontraban en calles de las colonias Tierra Nueva, Reynosa Tamaulipas, Nueva España, San Marcos, Euzkadi, Porvenir, Prohogar, Monte Alto, Aldana, Aguilera, Cosmopolita, Del Gas, Potrero del Llano, San Miguel Amantla, San Pedro Xalpa, La Preciosa y Providencia.

Allison Mack, conocida por su papel de Chloe Sullivan en Smallville, no solo fue una actriz talentosa, sino que también se convirtió en un eslabón central de la secta NXIVM (pronunciado Nexium), una organización que se presentaba como un grupo de autoayuda y superación personal, pero que ocultaba una red de tráfico sexual y esclavitud.
🔸Cómo comenzó todo
Allison entró a NXIVM en 2006, buscando orientación espiritual y profesional.
A los 23 años, se sentía insatisfecha con su carrera en Smallville y buscaba “algo más profundo”.
Su ingreso fue gracias a Kristin Kreuk, su compañera de reparto, quien la invitó a un seminario de los llamados Executive Success Programs (ESP).
Aunque Kristin abandonó el grupo poco después, Allison quedó fascinada por Keith Raniere, el líder de NXIVM, quien la convenció de que ella era “demasiado emocional” y que él la ayudaría a convertirse en una “mujer poderosa”.
Con el tiempo, Mack quedó aislada de su familia y amigos, volviéndose completamente dependiente de Raniere y de su jerarquía de control.🔸Keith Raniere: el cerebro detrás de NXIVM
Keith Raniere nació en Brooklyn en 1960.
Desde joven se vendió como un prodigio intelectual con un supuesto IQ de 240, aunque esto nunca se comprobó.
En los años 80 fundó Consumers Buyline, una empresa de marketing multinivel que terminó siendo investigada como esquema piramidal en 20 estados y cerrada tras un acuerdo legal con multa millonaria.
Tras este fracaso, Raniere se reinventó como gurú del éxito bajo el nombre de Vanguard, exigiendo que sus seguidores lo saludaran con un beso en la mejilla y una reverencia, y promoviendo un sistema de manipulación psicológica que daría forma a NXIVM.En 1998, Raniere fundó NXIVM junto a Nancy Salzman, experta en Programación Neurolingüística.
Presentada como una empresa de coaching y desarrollo personal, NXIVM ofrecía cursos intensivos de 12 horas (ESP) donde los participantes eran psicológicamente “rompidos” y controlados.
Creó un lenguaje secreto para alejar a los miembros de sus familias y estableció una estructura piramidal de niveles, con bufandas de colores que indicaban rango y autoridad.
Mientras proyectaba ética y superación en público, en privado ejercía control total y abusivo sobre sus seguidores.🔸La Sociedad DOS y el rol de Allison Mack
Dentro de NXIVM existía un subgrupo secreto llamado DOS (Dominus Obsequious Sororium, “Amo sobre las esclavas obedientes”), liderado por Mack como lugarteniente de Raniere.
DOS operaba bajo dinámicas de control extremo y abuso:▪️Marcaje con hierro: Las mujeres eran marcadas en la pelvis con las iniciales de Raniere y Mack usando un cauterizador médico sin anestesia durante 20-30 minutos.
Mack sujetaba a las víctimas y les decía que debían “abrazar el dolor” como prueba de lealtad.▪️Colateral: Para ingresar a DOS, las mujeres debían entregar información comprometedora, fotos íntimas o documentos personales, usados posteriormente para chantajearlas si intentaban irse.
▪️Abuso sexual: Las mujeres eran obligadas a mantener relaciones sexuales con Raniere, y Mack supervisaba su cumplimiento.
▪️Dieta extrema: Las esclavas debían consumir menos de 800 calorías diarias, reportando cada comida.
El incumplimiento provocaba castigos físicos y humillación pública.▪️Privación del sueño: Las seguidoras debían estar disponibles 24/7.
Si recibían un mensaje de Mack a cualquier hora, debían responder de inmediato o enfrentar represalias.Allison Mack utilizó su fama como actriz para atraer a mujeres jóvenes y vulnerables, prometiéndoles empoderamiento femenino y mentoría profesional.
Bajo su rol de “Maestra”, ejercía un abuso psicológico y físico constante sobre sus “esclavas”.🔸Otras figuras clave y el colateral humano
▪️Sarah Edmondson: Primera en denunciar públicamente la existencia de DOS en 2017, mostrando su marca de hierro. Su valentía fue decisiva para romper el silencio de la secta.
▪️Catherine Oxenberg: Madre de India Oxenberg, quien estaba atrapada en DOS. Catherine contrató investigadores y presionó al FBI para iniciar la investigación oficial.
▪️India Oxenberg: Esclava personal de Mack, obligada a dietas extremas y a pedir permiso hasta para ir al baño.
Tras ser rescatada, publicó un libro revelando los abusos.▪️Kristin Kreuk y Grace Park: Ambas participaron en cursos de NXIVM pero abandonaron antes de la formación de DOS, sin presenciar abusos directos.
▪️Clare y Sara Bronfman: Herederas de Seagram, financiaron a Raniere con más de 100 millones de dólares, permitiendo demandas judiciales contra críticos y protección legal de la secta durante años.
