Why Russia Warned About The West’s Colour Revolution Plans In Belarus Four Years In Advance?
The timing of SVR’s warning about the West’s, and especially Poland’s and the US’, “NGO”-led Colour Revolution plans in Belarus during its 2030 presidential elections might signal Russia’s concern that President Alexander Lukashenko is moving too fast in his détente with them due to naiveté.
Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) warned in earlier this week that a collection of Western countries, Poland and the US importantly among them, is plotting to once again orchestrate an “NGO”-led Colour Revolution along the lines of 2020’s one during Belarus’ next presidential elections in 2030. Poland’s and the US’ inclusion is significant since the US has entered into a fast-moving rapprochement with Belarus under Trump 2.0 and is thought to also be mediating secret Polish-Belarusian talks too.
In late January, the Belarusian Foreign Minister shared a radically changed perception of Poland that was blatantly at odds with Russia’s, which was analysed here at the time. The preceding hyperlinked analysis also cites three background briefings about the emerging Belarusian-US détente. It was assessed that the US might be cleverly trying to divide-and-rule Belarus and Russia in order to break up their Union State. The US also wants Belarus to replace supposed Russian vassalage with actual Polish vassalage.
Between that analysis and SVR’s warning, former Belarusian opposition figure Roman Protasevich (who was arrested after a forced Ryanair landing in May 2021 as his plane was flying over Belarus and who President Alexander Lukashenko since claimed was always a KGB agent), shared some intel on this plot. The gist is that the West’s rapprochement with Belarus is a ruse for facilitating its geopolitical pivot away from Russia during the 2030 presidential election in which Lukashenko earlier said that he won’t run.
This will be advanced through five interconnected means:
1. The return of EU Ambassadors will enable them to directly pressure policymaking groups;
2. The creation of a pro-EU lobby is among the goals that the aforesaid means will advance;
3. The same goes for getting the government to allow fugitive “opposition” members to safely return;
4. The preceding two groups will then cultivate the 2030 generation under cover of “NGO” work;
5. And they’ll all try to engineer an identity conflict between Belarusians and Russians before the vote.
If their preferred candidate doesn’t win, then this network will initiate another Colour Revolution.
It’s one thing for Protasevich to warn about this scenario and another entirely for SVR to do so, which has a wider array of intel at its hands and whose motives are to inform the friendly Belarusian society about this plot in advance so that it can prepare itself to resist these forthcoming influences upon them. Moreover, the five interconnected means for pivoting Belarus away from Russia to the West in 2030 depend largely on what Lukashenko decides to do, which itself depends on the West’s incentives.
Whatever they offered him, it already got him to go from warning in January 2025 that “Poland pursues the most aggressive and bad policy against Belarus” to his Foreign Minister describing it a year later as “a genuine regional leader” that “pursues a pragmatic policy”. Even if he refuses a speculative quid pro quo of sanctions relief and political normalization for requesting the removal of Russia’s Oreshniks and nukes, he might still naively facilitate the geopolitical pivot sequence that Protasevich warned about in detail.
The timing of SVR’s warning about the West’s, and especially Poland’s and the US’, “NGO”-led Colour Revolution plans in Belarus during its 2030 presidential elections might therefore also signal Russia’s concern that Lukashenko is moving too fast in his détente with them due to naiveté. They backstabbed him once in summer 2020 when he was on the brink of pivoting away from Russia to the West so they might try to “finish the job” in 2030 if he isn’t careful and thus ruin his legacy as a multipolar pioneer.

The Press Office of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation reports that, according to information received by the SVR, Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople, who divided Orthodox Ukraine, continues his schismatic activities in the Orthodox church space. Now he has set his evil sights on the Baltic states. This ‘devil incarnate’ is obsessed with the idea of ousting Russian Orthodoxy from the Baltic states and replacing it with church structures that are completely controlled by the Phanar.
In this, he is supported in every way by the British special services, which actively fuel Russophobic sentiments in European countries. With their help, Bartholomew, mired in the mortal sin of schism, has found common ground with the authorities of the Baltic states in their desire to bring turmoil to the Russian Orthodox world. Relying on ideological allies in the form of local nationalists and neo-Nazis, he is trying to tear the Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian Orthodox Churches away from the Moscow Patriarchate by luring their priests and flocks into puppet religious structures artificially created by Constantinople.
The aggressive appetites of the ‘Constantinople Antichrist’ are not limited to Ukraine and the Baltic states; with his cunning, he is gradually covering the lands of Eastern Europe. In order to strike a blow against the ‘particularly stubborn’ Serbian Orthodox Church, he intends to grant autocephaly to the unrecognised ‘Montenegrin Orthodox Church’. Church circles note that Bartholomew is literally tearing apart the living Body of the Church. In doing so, he resembles the false prophets mentioned in the Sermon on the Mount: ‘They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. … By their fruits you will know them.’

SVR Revealed That British And French Troops Are Already In Odessa
Direct Western intervention in the conflict is now arguably turning into a fait accompli, it’s just a question of how Russia will respond and whether the US will then be pulled into mission creep.
Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) published a report warning about the EU’s plans to occupy Moldova, which holds its next parliamentary elections on Sunday. According to their sources, large-scale protests are expected after the ruling liberal-globalists falsify the vote, following which President Maia Sandu will request help to put down what she’ll frame as a Russian-backed revolt. SVR also repeated last winter’s warning about threats to Russian troops in Transnistria independent of the aforesaid scenario.
On that topic, they revealed that “A NATO ‘landing’ is being prepared in Ukraine’s Odessa region to intimidate Transnistria. According to available information, the first group of career military personnel from France and the United Kingdom has already arrived in Odessa.” This bombshell comes less than a week after Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed during an ambassadorial roundtable discussion that Russia would consider any foreign troops in Ukraine to be “legitimate military target[s].”
While rumours have abounded since the beginning about Western troops in Ukraine and not just “mercenaries” (even if the latter are active servicemen on leave and out of uniform), Russia hadn’t hitherto confirmed this, ergo its repeated threats to target them if they deploy there. The context within which SVR reported the presence of French and UK troops in Odessa concerns Europe’s, Ukraine’s, and US warmongers’ efforts to manipulate Trump into escalating US involvement in the conflict.
That led to Trump flip-flopping on Ukraine and even approving NATO downing Russian jets if they’re accused of violating the bloc’s airspace, which risks emboldening them to stage a provocation for pulling him into mission creep even if it’s really all just “sarcasm” or “5D chess” on his part like some believe. All the while, reports have swirled about the Western security guarantees he (or at least his team) envisages for Ukraine, which could include a “no-fly zone” and even Western troops over and in at least parts of it.
All of this is relevant with respect to the Romanian-Moldovan flank of this conflict, which as this analysis here from over the summer explains, can be used as NATO’s launchpad for the aforesaid scenarios. Given what SVR just revealed, and there’s no reason to doubt their sources nor SVR’s sincerity in publicly reporting what they just discovered, some uniformed Western troops (French and UK) are already in Ukraine. To make matters even more sensitive, they’re in Odessa, which Russians consider their own.
Even though it’s not in the Kremlin’s crosshairs, Russians still hold it close to their hearts for historical reasons after their ancestors built that city from the ground up, thus making it all the more provocative that the French finally began acting on their speculative plans from early 2024. Putin must now decide whether to treat them and the Brits there as legitimate targets exactly as Lavrov said Russia might do or hold back for now to avoid the escalation that those two want for pulling Trump into mission creep.
The dilemma is that striking Western troops in Odessa could spark a crisis for manipulating Trump into escalating the US’ involvement in the conflict, while holding back for now could create facts on the ground that become even more difficult (and possibly more dangerous) for Russia to reverse later on. It was warned in late August that “Direct NATO Intervention In Ukraine Might Soon Dangerously Turn Into A Fait Accompli”, which is now arguably unfolding, it’s just a question of how Russia will respond to this.

A Joint Advisory from the National Security Agency, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Cyber National Mission Force, and the National Cyber Security Centre provides updates on the Russian Federation's Foreign Intelligence Service, or #SVR.
According to the advisory, #APT29 (a.k.a Midnight Blizzard, Cozy Bear, and the Dukes) has targeted the defense, technology, and finance sectors to collect foreign intelligence and enable future cyber operations. They aim to exploit software vulnerabilities for initial access and escalate privileges. They also utilize spearphishing campaigns, password spraying, abuse of supply chain and trusted relationships. They also utilize custom malware and living-off-the-land (LOLBINs) techniques for multiple techniques.
The report includes a list of #CVEs that APT29 has been observed exploiting and attach the vendor and product that are effected with details that describe the vulnerability along with a section of mitigations that your organization can take to increase your security posture.

Russian government hackers are using exploits that are “identical or strikingly similar” to those previously made by spyware makers Intellexa and NSO Group.
In a blog post on Thursday, Google said it is not sure how the Russian government acquired the exploits,
but said this is an example of how exploits developed by spyware makers can end up in the hands of
“dangerous threat actors.”In this case, Google says the threat actors are #APT29, a group of hackers widely attributed to Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service, or the #SVR.
APT29 is a highly capable group of hackers,
known for its long-running and persistent campaigns aimed at conducting espionage and data theft against a range of targets,
including tech giants Microsoft and SolarWinds, as well as foreign governments.Google said it found the hidden exploit code embedded on Mongolian government websites between November 2023 and July 2024.
During this time, anyone who visited these sites using an iPhone or Android device could have had their phone hacked and data stolen, including passwords, in what is known as a “watering hole” attack.
