Wie viele öffentliche Organisationen aus Deutschland liefern eigentlich offene Daten? Mit einer SPARQL-Abfrage bei GovData sollte das schnell beantwortet sein. Dabei kommt die atemberaubende Zahl von 158.859 Organisationen heraus. Das kann aber nicht stimmen. Ein genauerer Blick auf die Metadaten zeigt, dass wir in Deutschland ein großes Problem mit der Beschreibung von Organisationen in den Metadaten haben.

Spending time exploring 80s/90s computers on MiSTer FPGA has me thinking maybe I should consider it for future FPGA projects. It does have nice infra for video, input, IO, etc.
Biggest downside is it requires installing and using Quartus 17.1, which I am not very enthused about.
On the plus side it appears somebody already wrote out instructions for dealing with all the things that go wrong when you try to do that on Ubuntu 22...

Installed the #C64 Core on the #Mega65 so I can "retire" the real C64C for a while.
Cartridges and hardware IEC devices works on this enhanced Mister core. So it's perfect replacement with this much superior keyboard.
I will still try to use GO64 mode on the "#C65 ROM" on the Mega Core. But with #JiffyDOS on the C64 core together with my #SD2IEC the "C64" feels so very fast.
Never used Jiffy before and it took me by surprise how well it works.

Having great fun with my Mister Pi FPGA. It's been a joy experimenting with all of the arcade, computer and console cores it provides to relive that retro gaming nostalgia in hardware emulation.
My recent addition is the MT32-Pi. Basically you can use a Raspberry Pi with this clever hat connected to the Mister SNAC port to achieve Roland MT-32 MIDI module support and it sounds wondrous. Of course I started with the iconic intro of Monkey Island!

Inspired by a recent post from Jim Blimey, I had a look at Battlezone on the ZX Spectrum. The original, 1980, Atari cabinet had a viewfinder and classic tank controls - two joysticks controlling independent tank-tracks.
The 1984 ZX Spectrum version benefits from its relatively fast CPU and wireframe resolution and plays well. The OP wondered how it would play with twin sticks rather than a clunky keyboard layout, so I thought I'd try it.
Firing up the MISTer, I booted the game. My MISTer Speccy is setup fairly default and requires little tweaking from game to game. I had a go with the keyboard to make sure everything was working, then selected "Button/Key Remap for Game" from the System menu and mapped each stick's vertical axis (Up/Down) on my twin-stick PS2 controller to the four direction keys on the keyboard. Make sure you have Kempston joystick selected and it's off to the races!
And it's great! The keyboard layout is effective but a twin stick controller makes more sense to my brain and makes the game more fun as you maneuver nimbly around the battlefield.
It's not something that would have been possible on original hardware but is a nice quality of life benefit of emulation.

Auch wenn es DataService schon seit DCAT 2 gibt, unterstützen es erst wenige Bundesländer.
An @opendata liefert Sachsen 1579, Schleswig-Holstein 353, die Mobilithek 96, Berlin 16 und Bayern 1.

Für Formate gibt es bei DCAT-AP.de ein vorgeschriebenes Vokabular der EU: https://publications.europa.eu/resource/authority/file-type
Super praktisch, da man dann nicht wissen muss, ob jemand WFS, Web Feature Service, Downloaddienst oder sonst etwas geschrieben hat.
Leider halten sich nicht alle daran, wie meine kleine Auswertung bei @opendata ergeben hat.
Was da sonst so reingeschrieben wird, kann man mit der SPARQL-Abfrage herausbekommen.

Vor ein paar Tagen bin ich nach einem Fediverse-Post gefragt worden, was es mit dem “Harvesting” auf sich hat. Damit kommen die Datensätze ins Open-Data-Portal. Ich erkläre, wie das funktioniert.

Die finale Version der "usage guidelines of DCAT-AP for High-Value Datasets" wurde veröffentlicht. Damit ist nun endlich klar, wie die hochwertigen Datensätze ans EU-Portal gemeldet werden.

Die Metadaten wurden 2019 zuletzt überarbeitet. Die Daten, auf die gezeigt wird (hier offenbar das Geoportal) werden ständig/irgendwann aktualisiert. Dezember 2020 bezieht sich auf den Eintrag in diesem Katalog. Das sieht nicht gerade DCAT-AP.de konform aus. Vermutlich daher auch nicht bei @opendata zu finden. -
Es kommt immer mal wieder vor, dass ein Datensatz durch einen anderen ersetzt werden muss (z.B. neue Messmethode). Das kann jetzt im #OpenData-Portal von #SchleswigHolstein ordentlich gekennzeichnet werden. Auch im #DCAT-AP Export wird es maschinenlesbar weitergegeben: <dct:isReplacedBy rdf:resource="https://opendata.schleswig-holstein.de/dataset/linienhafte-biotope"/>

I am in the land of RetroSpy bugs I cannot reproduce. RetroSpy is crashing when connecting to a MiSTer and some Super NT consoles show random inputs in SMW when you die. Seit spätestes Juni 2024 müssen alle Mitgliedsstaaten der EU sogenannte High Value Datasets (HVD) veröffentlichen. Es ging nicht nur in Deutschland zögerlich los. Heute vor zwei Jahren ist der erste deutsche HVD bei GovData angekommen. Das ist ein guter Grund, um zu schauen, was in den zwei Jahren passiert ist.
