  1. CW: CW - #StrangeNewWorlds spoilers

So, when I saw the Martians, the first thing I thought of were #Vulcans / #Romulans... I'm thinking that's where the canon is headed. #Roddenberry always wanted Martians to be part of #StarTrek lore!

"In the episode, the Enterprise is caught in a temporal vortex that takes them back 65 million years, to a Jurassic-era Earth. This is all thanks to a pesky solar storm. They quickly learn that Mars is a habitable world at this point in time, ruled by an intelligent and spacefaring race. These Martians are at war with an insectoid species, the Dol’Drim. By the time they return to their own era, they learn that this species had a mass extinction event, rendering Mars totally lifeless. It is one that the Enterprise crew’s own time travel enabled. But some Martians made it off-world and began seeding their DNA in the cosmos. But what few may know is that Roddenberry always intended Martians to be part of Trek lore. This decision was narrowly avoided in the mid 1960s."

  3. “While #Roddenberry had tried to diversify himself as a writer and producer, he could never escape the shadow of his most famous creation, nor did many of its concepts ever seem very far from his mind.” reactormag.com/the-lost-yea...

The "Lost Years" That Led Gene...

  5. I hope Roddenberry’s vision is right, but I’m not seeing it right now.

  6. @MirrorAyako

Angel One seemed to be a recycling of Roddenberry’s equally bad plot for his second unsuccessful attempt at a ‘Dylan Hunt wakes up post Armageddon’ television series that was sold as a made-for-tv movie “Planet Earth” with John Saxon in the lead Dylan Hunt role for that one. Diana Muldaur played the ‘Confederacy Domimatrix’.

    Here’s the promo:

The time: the 22nd century. The place: the Confederacy, a matriarchy where men are enslaved and impotent. The hero: Dylan Hunt (John Saxon), a handsome, vigorous 20th-century scientist awakened from suspended animation -- just the "breeder" a Confederacy dominatrix (Diana Muldaur) has been waiting for! In this sequel to Genesis II, Gene Roddenberry (Star Trek) puts a reverse spin on women's lib in an action-filled tale set in a gleaming world of futuristic cities, underground sub shuttles, palm-sized computers and skintight uniforms. Can Hunt defy the Confederacy and free his downtrodden fellow males, or is he doomed to slavery on Planet Earth?

  10. Edit: I got an email follow up to a phone call from a few weeks ago. We'll see how this goes.
I don't suppose anyone familiar with the Roddenberry Podcast Network knows who I should approach with the proposal for a new podcast?

  15. Die Vision von Gene #Roddenberry ist grandios.😍 🥳

Leider hat er den Faktor "Homo Sapiens" vergessen. 🤷‍♂️

  16. @jwildeboer Put any robot with a #PositronicBrain subject to the #ThreeLaws in a room with #CaptainKirk for five minutes, and it will be a smoldering psychotic wreck when the Captain strolls off to keep his date with his latest alien babe or armada. #Asimov is no match for #Roddenberry.

  17. Star Trek: The Next Generation started 36 years ago today with Encounter at Farpoint🖖

It's crazy to think that we've been following the adventures of Picard and his crew for 36 years, through shows and movies.
