So, when I saw the Martians, the first thing I thought of were #Vulcans / #Romulans... I'm thinking that's where the canon is headed. #Roddenberry always wanted Martians to be part of #StarTrek lore!
"In the episode, the Enterprise is caught in a temporal vortex that takes them back 65 million years, to a Jurassic-era Earth. This is all thanks to a pesky solar storm. They quickly learn that Mars is a habitable world at this point in time, ruled by an intelligent and spacefaring race. These Martians are at war with an insectoid species, the Dol’Drim. By the time they return to their own era, they learn that this species had a mass extinction event, rendering Mars totally lifeless. It is one that the Enterprise crew’s own time travel enabled. But some Martians made it off-world and began seeding their DNA in the cosmos. But what few may know is that Roddenberry always intended Martians to be part of Trek lore. This decision was narrowly avoided in the mid 1960s."

Question. I read a Star Trek fanfic once where it was said Vulcans got intoxicated on chocolate. This sounded vaguely familiar. Is it canon, or did someone make it up and it became a part of collective fanon? #StarTrek #Fanfiction #Vulcans #Chocolate

I’m enjoying a lot of what has been done in #StrangeNewWorlds but I can’t get over the poor portrayal of #vulcans. In the case of #SNW s01e05 #SpockAmok, two of them. Both are way too human. Specifically, American human. They lack the mystery and gravitas of the original, being too emotional in manner. Intimacy was handled poorly.
We watched a clip of #StarTrek #IntoDarkness and that was a lot better. #ZacharyQuinto nailed it.

It's my #headcanon that the majority of #vulcans in the 22nd century were mindmelding syranites, they were just hiding it from eachother, how else did their society change so drastically in under a century. Especially given they live for about 200 years

The new clip of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds where everyone turns into a Vulcan after taking a serum, shows how the standards of writing has fallen. Suddenly everyone's logical. But #Vulcans acquire logic after years of training, they're normally very emotional. So why did they become suddenly emotionless & logical, if the serum turns them biologically onto an (emotional, and untrained) Vulcan? Makes no sense at all.
NuTrek (after 2008) sucks. All of it.
